  1. Great shots! Nice to see an unrebuilt RRR set. Enjoy the 22s while you can... they'll become a rarer site around stations before you know it! I doubt the locotracteurs are being phased out, as they're still needed in the freight yards. Probably just Nice catching up with other mainline hubs and using larger locos on pilot duties (or just backing another loco onto the train to take the coaches on their next journey).
  2. One of the few trains you can legally photograph in Italy!
  3. Yes, that one's a repeat alright. Rubbish programme, to be honest.
  4. Purchased a Fouga kit from Mark's Models' website last night, and it arrived by courier today. Not bad!
  5. Driver: "We have three, ya little... and a transport museum, too!" *drives off*
  6. That'll be 'Six Shooter', directed by Martin McDonagh: A brilliant short film! The actor playing the crazy guy also played Tito in 'Into the West'...
  7. What a way to announce your arrival on the forum! Welcome aboard, Karjoa... your layout looks wonderful!
  8. Great photos, Broithe! Airshows in this country just haven't been the same since the Silver Swallows were disbanded in the '90s.
  9. Looks interesting alright. Anyone out there have any experience with it?
  10. Seeing as Curran's work has been mentioned a few times on this thread, here's something I picked up some time ago... It's a Radio Train brochure produced around 1957/1958 and aimed at American tourists planning a trip to Ireland.
  11. Well, it's finally happened... http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2013/jul/08/maplin-high-street-first-3d-printer Not sure just how good the quality will be, but it's definitely going to pique the interest of many modellers!
  12. Still getting used to it here, too. Slightly OT, but some time ago I set up a Flickr group called 'Irish Railway Heritage'. I rarely post anything to it myself, but there are countless gems from other photographers who contribute: http://www.flickr.com/groups/irishrailwayheritage/
  13. Cheers for that, Wanderer. Will the extra units be stored or rotated?
  14. Probably a compromise for increased capacity on lines with platforms that are too short to accommodate six-car sets. Any sign of selective door opening being installed?
  15. Great footage! It's just a pity Mallard herself is out of commission at the moment.
  16. Kept an eye on that RMWeb thread alright... it's a work of art!
  17. They're not alike at all, to be honest. GM's GL8 model, of which the 121 class is a variant of, was designed specifically for the export market. As far as I know, nobody produces a ready-to-run model of this loco. If there is one available, some alterations would still be needed...
  18. It's already looking like a fine model. Looking forward to following the build.
  19. Great book with good info and lovely photos.
  20. I wholeheartedly approve of this (the French layout, not the homicide).
  21. Two fantastic layouts. Bosko, there's more where that video came from... there's a website/blog for that layout: http://www.biscatrain.fr/
