  1. On way up up to Dublin now... hoping for that pre-production 121 as well, Fran, but I won't hold my breath!
  2. House rules, Richie... You need to name a price!
  3. Speaking of EM... in some ways it's unfortunate that Irish-outline models aren't produced in HO scale, as EM gauge track is very close to 5ft 3in gauge in 3.5mm scale. A small band of Irish modellers do work to that scale all the same...
  4. There was a rumour that she was scrapped, but the last I heard she was still in one piece...
  5. What a way to kick off a workench thread! The chassis looks great!
  6. The noise out of a pair of 121s on a laden cement or liner was something else too! There were one or two short stretches around the country where 121s were permitted to run cab first, including the short stretch to Barrack Street at Dundalk... http://eiretrains.com/Photo_Gallery/Railway%20Stations%20B/Barrack%20Street/IrishRailwayStations.html#Barrack%20Street_20100106_0014_CC.jpg
  7. I'll take it if it's still available...
  8. I have a soft spot for the Penn Central so I'm looking forward to see how this progresses.

    MK3 Scrapping

I'm guessing that's a photo of the Enterprise genny vans just before their refurbishment?
  10. Interesting article here about a new sub-$100 3D printer which uses lasers guided by audio signals from the computer to form the design from a resin block... http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/ideas/2013/10/is-a-100-3d-printer-too-good-to-be-true/?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=socialmedia&utm_campaign=20131015&utm_content=innovations3dprinter2

    MK3 Scrapping

You should drop them a line and offer them your services! They did this before back in the '90s when they painted an A class in a variation of the livery the 201s first carried...

    MK3 Scrapping

Doubt that, Richie... I'd say it'll be used to test out new livery varations and then put back on the scrapline.
  13. Hi Fitzguttentite, could you please include the asking price? Thanks
  14. Great stuff, Josefstadt! May I ask where you got the photos from? I searched for the report on this incident in the archive at work, but unfortunately some muppet had ripped the page clean out of the relevant volume. I did manage to get a copy of a follow-up from the next week's paper, though...
  15. A video from the in-car video camera in an American police cruiser, which was chasing the car when it was hit by not one, but two trains! Luckily no one was killed... Video and article here: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c90_1381721438
  16. Hi James, Unfortunately it is no longer at Malahide Castle. It's currently dismantled and in storage, along with all the rolling stock.
  17. Great work, George. Wasn't expecting to see a builder's smile as I was scrolling through those pics, though!
  18. Welcome, Maitland... your J26 looks great, as does the drawing! There seems to be a lot of interest in the SL&NCR here lately.

    New Irish Lines

The archive is now complete up to and including the May 2012 issue: http://newirishlines.org/archive-2/ Going forward, digital editions will be uploaded 12 months after the print version is published, i.e. the PDF of the November 2012 newsletter will be added to the archive next month, when the November 2013 issue is published.
  21. Yes, if not longer. Ahead of her in the queue to return to traffic is No. 4, Merlin, and Slieve Gullion. Maybe even 131...
  22. Take a bow, guys... they look great!
