Warbonnet Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Fran its only £4.50 to ship to me if you ever want to ship to me I can bring it down to you Gent, will keep that in mind. Their 2nd hand section sometimes has some nice gear.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Please note it is Summer sale from Modelfair. I know but what a great deal on 141 RPSI at that price you would be tempted to buy 2 and renumber one into 142. You would even be saving on postage
Garfield Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I've moved the retailers and pricing conversation to a seperate thread as it had dragged this one completely off topic. Click here to go to it. Garfieldsghost

Railer Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Just looking on the murphymodels site and it says that a 201 of each livery will be released but I don't see a revised old Enterprise full yellow end 201 listed. Why no 207 or 233? I know the next 201s due are 209 in NIR blue and 230 in the old Enterprise yellow panel livery. We got 201 and 210 in the new IE and 203 and 220 in the old IE but left out the second best looking 201 livery. I know I can get any mm 201 repainted but I'd like to get one out of the box.

Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Paddy told me at the Bangor show that the NIR blue and Enterprise purple have been put on the long finger and may be released next year
wiggy Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 What you need is one like this. Well done Seamus Graham. Wiggy.
Warbonnet Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 That's a super job. Would look better weathered though!
wiggy Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 That's a super job. Would look better weathered though! Hoooooo no no no no no no no.
201bhoy Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 That's a super job. Would look better weathered though! Definitely loses the plasticy, fake look.
ttc0169 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Definitely loses the plasticy, fake look. Or maybe something like this...... Another product from the paint shop of Seamus Graham.
BabyGM Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 No 220 in the background could use a bit of weathering too
wiggy Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Definitely loses the plasticy, fake look. NO I,ve just washed it.
aclass007 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 What you need is one like this.Well done Seamus Graham. Wiggy. Just looking at the two locos side by side highlights how much better the correct yellow front looks. It's a pity this mistake happened.

Barl Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 What. ????? I think he means the incorrect yellow 'smiley face' on the MM model, its not quite smiley enough 207 looks fantastic, I really like this livery with the full yellow face.
Intercity229 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Hi everyone, First of all, I do like 207 and I wouldn't mind 233 in the same livery/condition. Lovely models these are and I currently have five of them in my fleet in the form of 201, 8208, 210, 222 and my beast 229. As much as I love the weathering, I think I would prefer to have 233 in pristine condition as my excuse for this is that I can park it near my old decrepid Lima train washer on the access track. Although thanks to ModelFair having a sale, I can buy a couple of donor locomotives as I would like to have 221 in the same livery as my 222 and 229 but weathered to make it look more realistic . Without going too off-topic, I have a question regarding the real GM Class 201's. Would anyone know if these locomotives have a loud turbo howl when in Notch 8? I ask this because the MP40PH's that Go Transit use have the same EMD 710 prime mover and they make a nice howl in Notch 8. So I was just wondering if the GM Class 201's made a similar noise. Thanks Ash.
dave182 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Just to keep the thread alive, spotted this pair out the window this evening.

BabyGM Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Just to keep the thread alive, spotted this pair out the window this evening. Great picture I've only ever seen one other picture and that's the one with 208 and 209 on the lagan bridge So whats the story with the two 201's ? Did one fail and need to be hailed back?
