Arran
HI All Ā Seen these tanks in one of the intermodals , How common are they ? Ā Regards Arran Ā Edited May 27, 2022 by Arran
Rob
TheĀ Murphy's tanks are on hire to replace some of the older DCIU tanks I believe, some of the DCIU tanks are at least 18 years old.Ā Ā @MOGUL I had seen some of these for the first time last August in North Wall and asked about them with the answer above. I haven't seen them too often since. Ā 1

DJ Dangerous
I'd much rather Dana's before the Murphy's. While dreaming and speculating, what containers are likely to appear on IRM's next run of 42'6" flats? Will they be all new containers, or a mix of those in the original run with a few new ones mixed in?

Tanktainers are a must for post 2000 IE liners, they make up about 40% of the weekly load on the liners and have plenty of variety including a few oddities.. Layout looks great, I would give that the IWT seal of approval for authenticity!

MOGUL
A whole crop of Dapol and Hornby containers released this month, some very much of Irish interest Dapol First: 20ft Evergreens, unweathered and weathered versions available.. Cover a wide period from the 90s onwards, and were very prominent on the Claremorris liner with Bone chip exports from Dawn meats in Ballyhaunis, as well as lots of other liner operations up to the present day IWT https://www.dapol.co.uk/shop/oo-gauge/wagons-OO-Gauge/oo-gauge-containers/4F-028-055-OO-Gauge-Container-20FT-EISU-75951-5-01151-3 https://www.dapol.co.uk/shop/oo-gauge/wagons-OO-Gauge/oo-gauge-containers/4F-028-056-OO-Gauge-Container-20FT-EISU-75951-5-01151-3-Weathered 40ft mixed pack with 1 Hapag Lloyd and 1 CMA.. Very relevant to IWT liners! Again come in weathered and un-weathered versions.. I got a set in a hattons order(with a nice Mulgrew truck needing light repairs) and they are passable.. Not up to Arrans standards, but a good volume filler as you can never have enough 40ft CMAs(think I have about 8, a mix of dapols and Crail by now) https://www.dapol.co.uk/shop/oo-gauge/wagons-OO-Gauge/oo-gauge-containers/4F-028-056-OO-Gauge-Container-20FT-EISU-75951-5-01151-3-Weathered https://www.dapol.co.uk/shop/oo-gauge/wagons-OO-Gauge/oo-gauge-containers/4F-028-107-OO-Gauge-40ft-Ctnr-HC-HAPAG-LLOYD-213247-0-CMA-CGM 522616-6-Weathered 45ft Mixed pack of P&O and Samskip, JACKPOT! Both of these are regulars on the IWT liner, and the Samskip ones sometimes make up 80% of the load on the XPOs(that's 3 boxes!).. Can't find them on Dapol website but Hattons seem to have some.. https://www.hattons.co.uk/976915/dapol_4f_028_023_45_ft_container_p_o_ferrymasters_007303_8_samskip_798868_0/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/976916/dapol_4f_028_024_45_ft_container_p_o_ferrymasters_007303_8_samskip_798868_0_wthd/stockdetail  Hornby have 3 packs 1 of tanktainers x 3, nice models.. Only the Concisa has seen the rails here(IWT liner 2015-2019ish), but the other two are generic enough/hire units that could fit in.. They are a little dear though, going to pass on these and pick up some C-Rails in Raheny instead! https://uk.hornby.com/products/concisa-tip-hoyer-container-pack-3-x-20-tanktainers-era-11-r60130 1 pack with a 40ft hanjin and a 20ft DAL, Hanjin went bust around 2018 but their containers did appear on liners here(baby food liner from Askeaton notably).. DAL are a niche african carrier, so unlikely much Irish interest in this one.. Again going to pass as I have a Hanjin from Dapol, and they are dear for Hornbys standards at £21 a pack https://uk.hornby.com/products/dal-hanjin-container-pack-1-x-20-and-1-x-40-containers-era-11-r60128 Another pack with a Genstar 40ft and a CCL 20ft, both more suitable for early 1990s-2000s.. I think Arran has done Genstar, and I know nothing about CCL! Another pass unfortunately! https://uk.hornby.com/products/ccl-genstar-container-pack-1-x-20-and-1-x-40-containers-era-11-r60127 1
