As the year draws to a close it's time we issue a delivery update on our Class 92 and Mark 5 coaches, two models that are highly anticipated in our range!

Class 92

ACC2196-92020DCC_0003_600x600.jpg?v=1671

As of today all running numbers apart from 92010, 92020 and sound equipped version 92043 have arrived in stock. The latest information we have on these final three locomotives is that they will arrive in our warehouse this coming Wednesday (21st Dec) and we will work to get as many sent out to customers as possible before Christmas cut off. However, we cannot guarantee that these locomotives arriving before Christmas. We apologise for this delay, but will do our very best to get them out as fast as possible.

Any orders for multiple locomotives which include 92010, 92020 and 92043 are getting split out, so the in stock items will be sent today/tomorrow and then the outstanding locomotives will be sent in a separate parcel when they come into stock.

Once these pre-orders are cleared the remaining stock of these last three locomotives we be available to purchase on our website and 020 and 043 will also be available from Accurascale retailers (010 is an Accurascale Exclusive)

The two limited editions for Rails have arrived at our warehouse and are being checked before sending onto Rails, while the Stobart Rail Class 92 for Kernow Model Centre will be the final locomotive to arrive in early January 2023.

92022 and 92032 are fully sold out, while some others are sold out in DCC sound or DC/DCC ready guise and are shifting fast.

Order yours here!

Mark 5 Coaches

Our Caledonian sleeper coaches are still with customs and we have now been advised by our shipping company that they will arrive at our warehouse on December 30th. This is a bitterly disappointing delay on the final straight for us after trying to pull out all the stops to get them here ahead of Christmas, but logistics and customs issues have slowed delivery to a crawl. Dispatch of the sleeper coaches will begin first week of January 2023.

The TPE coaches are approx 10 days behind the sleepers, and will be dispatched from mid January 2023.

Not a fan of the Class 92 locomotive design, however, watched Dean Park Station's review of the model and he is really delighted with his purchase - just like everyone else who has posted a video on YouTube thus far. While he gave most aspects of the model a 5 'arrow' rating, he only gave it 4 in relation to value for money. Doesn't make sense to me because it's a quality and detailed locomotive for under 200£. Never look a gift horse..............

Saw the Caledonian Sleepers at Raheny and are very impressive. People who ordered them may be disappointed with the slight further delay in receiving their' models but, it's only a couple of extra weeks and will be worth the wait. They give a good idea of what to expect from IRM when they produce the IÉ mark IVs.

This guy didn't do a review but just a running sessions, you can read what he thinks of the new model (below).

Well, 4 days before Christmas in Western Australia, there is a happy chap called Ian, because his class 92 locos from Accurascale have arrived before the Australian postal system abandons all hope by shutting down in town pretty much until the new year So what do we have? We have exclusive from Accurascale Railfreight Distribution liveried 92022 and also standard issue from all Accurascale retailers 92003 which worked the very final BR service. RFD being the last part of BR being privatised and the next service was under the new ownership of EW&S as it was still known at the time So what do we think of this all singing all dancing model, well it is awesome. This video isn’t a review, but just a test to ensure everything is working as it should.

The destination panels are provided separately for northbound and southbound trains.  I secured them in place with small dabs of pva to enable future removal/swapping if required.

Quite superb models - by far the best coach models that I have ever seen.

Cheers

Couple of 92's still available, but no Caledonian Sleeper livery ones - if you wanted them, you were too slow.

Coaches all gone except for the TransPenine Express Pack 2.

Anybody know which Accurascale locos haul these coaches?

For the TPE coaches you need a Dapol TPE Class 68.

Other retailers are available…

Got the text message this morning that DHL would deliver my ILG parcel to me between 12.09 and 13.09.  13.30 came round with no delivery so I checked the tracking link only to find out that it had been delivered at 12.01 to someone called Alina, who had signed for it.

Fortunately the delivery person had taken a brilliantly composed photo of the handover…

From the geometry of the walls and the colour of the carpet I was able to deduce that the delivery address was in my building and I was able to identify it as flat number 8 from the doormat.  I live in flat number 12 - two floors up.  I have had deliveries that had been “ left in reception” (= by the lift doors on the ground floor) but never had a delivery where the guy got half way up to my floor and then stopped.

Fortunately the occupant was still at home and she handed over the parcel to me after I rang the door - whether she intended to bring it round later is open to conjecture but I am choosing to think she would have.

In any event DHL should check the numeracy of their deliverers - I know it’s a crap and poorly paid job so i can’t get too steamed about this even though the parcel contains TPE Mk5s.

Thank goodness for that photo!!!

Cheers

Darius

I bought BRM to get the account of Andy's "Castlederg" (TEN pages of delightful nostalgia - it even has the RUC station where my Dad served!!!) and it had a review of the Lad's Class 92. Congrats to them - BRM were lost for words of praise to use! However, it's the Mark Fives that blew me away - amazing detail. Very, very well done.

As the Frogs say "Chapeau"!!!

Very nice!! Pity the Panto heads don't sit flat when down but I think a lad on RMWEB had a fix for that if you are bovvered. Well wear.

Was that the post by 97406 about filing the vee down?

Also, I see somebody on RMWeb saying that 92038 shouldn't haul the Mk5's, to be prototypically correct?

Is that true or bull? No mention of anything like that on the Accurascale site.

Rule number 1 DJ, it's what makes you happy, my 92038 and Caledonian sleepers are going to look really well on the Tralee to Fenit branch line, when it gets built, not sure about the overhead cantery yet, 😄. Fantastic looking loco, enjoy 👍

John.

Same, mine will happily haul some Mk5's one day, I'm just curious as to the accuracy of that comment.
