amdaley Posted June 8 Author Posted June 8 (edited) Some granite sets put down. Just waiting for some more sheets for the station area. Edited June 8 by amdaley 15
Mol_PMB Posted June 8 Posted June 8 That looks very neat! It's nice to see a goods yard with plenty of space for the road vehicles to manoeuvre - it's very easy for us railway modellers to cram the space unrealistically full of track. 2 3

Believe me the temptation was there We've all been guilty of that. 5 1

When planning Dugort Harbour, I adopted the approach of "less is more", as I wanted it to look realistic scenically overall. It seems to work that way, and yet it certainly provides more than adequate operational potential and interest. Arguably, operation of a terminus-type layout offers much greater shunting challenges the less track there is - just like real life. 3 1
amdaley Posted Sunday at 22:53 Author Posted Sunday at 22:53 (edited) All cobbles are done now. The rest of the yard between the yard cobbles & the station area will probably just be dirt / gravel ? I need to get a few buildings like coal merchants for the yard to utilise that long siding. I haven't decided yet ? Edited Sunday at 22:54 by amdaley 6
west_clare_wanderer Posted Sunday at 23:15 Posted Sunday at 23:15 That cobbled area is looking fantastic. I really like those low relief buildings too. Inspiring stuff! 3 1

amdaley Posted Wednesday at 22:31 Author Posted Wednesday at 22:31 Facia has been fitted. Facia & shelf have been painted. Finishes off the front of the layout I think. A few buildings needed for the yard next. 6
