enniscorthyman Posted August 29, 2012 Author Share Posted August 29, 2012 I have just finished a Wills PO kit that I converted to a an post Post Office.This is my first time using a wills kit and to be honest found it a fecker to build as everything has to be cut and is in no way superquick.Anyway its done now and I am happy with the result along with the tardis-sorry phone box with a vexed couple having a row.So for all your stamps and parcels call to Redmonds Post Office. I made the Water Mill for someone and didn't realise what was involved until I opened the box. The beauty of them, though, is that it is so easy to vary them, put the windows anywhere you like, change the position of doors and even the size of the finished thing. Hard work, but well worth the effort. *I wonder if a career in advertising beckons..? + Jackdaw cowls for an 'Irish Look'..? Yes you right as i made my own adjustments but cutting to get things to fit good god give me a mk3 EGV anyday. enniscorthyman Posted September 19, 2012 Author Share Posted September 19, 2012 This is a first look at my display layout that I have built for a local vintage day on Sunday 30th September.Still a lot of work to do and some scenery wont be finished in time.The layout is built into six sections with the main one built by Gerry Byrne for his Ballybeg layout which was unused and kindly given to me to build onto for the vintage day.The plan is to use the two front units for the attic layout when I get back to building it in a few weeks. I have used 4 seep point motors controlled by gaugemaster acc decoder and I have one spare from the right unit if I need to control lights etc in the future. Yes I surely will and I will have a39 in action with sound so if any one is in Wexford on Sunday 30th,come along to the Caimvintage day.Caim is a small village outside Enniscorthy near Killane and Rathnure and is near the main road to Kilkenny. I used woodlands earth and green undercoat for scenic areas. I used this old optrex bottle to place the scenic cement which had a drop of washing up liquid to help it flow better.This proved very handy for placing the cement on the ballast. Yes H and S would have a field day if the label was left on,mind you scenic cement in the eyes would be nasty enough.I would say brushing your teeth with deep heat brought tears to your eyes. Possibly a serious issue, though, especially for those with younger 'potential modellers' in the house, where remedies might be sought in the heat of the moment and the dead of the night..
