leslie10646 Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 High sided beet wagon? To slightly misquote Crosby Stills and Nash - "It's getting to the point, where YOU are no fun any more….." I knew I should not have shown any of the corrugations! Next question - what song am I quoting? When they sang it (their first ever performance in public) at Woodstock, it brought the house down (in a manner of speaking, as they were singing in a field, of course!). Leslie Quote
leslie10646 Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 Ah, Richie, you discovered the same photo as we did! And, yes, you'll get the bracing in the kit. Quote
jhb171achill Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Double deck turnip wagon! Excellent!! Major part of recent years' scene. (And not even invented in the days of Woodstock!) ;-) Quote
Weshty Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 And, yes, you'll get the bracing in the kit. But will we get the stray sugar beets as well? Please? Quote
jhb171achill Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 And overweight rats skulking in the shadows of models of Waterford & Wellington Bridge! Quote
leslie10646 Posted October 25, 2016 Author Posted October 25, 2016 But will we get the stray sugar beets as well? Please? Well spotted, Des. Actually, there is a source for MODEL Sugar Beet, see:- http://www.modelscenerysupplies.co.uk/truck-load-sugar-beet-oo-juweela How many stray beets do you think I should sell with each kit, Des? All part of the service. Leslie PS JB, NO rats on offer! Quote
scahalane Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Leslie will you keep a few of the standard beet wagons for me at the Raheny show. I hope to be up on Sunday. Quote
leslie10646 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) I suppose I'd better let you see what the whole wagon looks like? The chassis has been specially made to reflect its parentage - an earlier CIE container chassis. which, as every schoolboy (girl) knows had a different brake arrangement on each side - as you can see in this piccie of Big and Little Brother. We hope that you like it! Leslie Edited October 26, 2016 by leslie10646 Quote
John-r Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Looks absolutely stunning Leslie, a great addition to the Irish railway scene. Any ballpark release date, maybe this weekend?. Quote

Order this weekend from me and you'll have them before Christmas. No money need change hands - just tell me how many. For such orders, I will fulfil them at not more than €28 a kit - a bit less for multiples, if I can save on postage. Edited October 26, 2016 by leslie10646 Quote
Weshty Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Well spotted, Des. Actually, there is a source for MODEL Sugar Beet, see:- http://www.modelscenerysupplies.co.uk/truck-load-sugar-beet-oo-juweela Wowzers, that's cool. Walther's used to do some but not as nice as these. The beet kits really look the deal Leslie, I'll be taking 12 thanking you very much. Quote

If you're at Raheny, you can judge between Lentils and Pearl Barley for loads! I raided the kitchen on the suggestion of Lord White of Old Blarney. Leslie Edited October 27, 2016 by leslie10646 Quote
patrick Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Des Thanks for the order - you're first in the queue! If you're at Raheny, you can judge between Lentils and Pearl Barley for loads! I raided the kitchen on the suggestion of Lord White of Old Blarney. Leslie I looked into the Juweela beets but the suppliers online were charging an arm and leg for shipping. I settled for sesame seed which cost $2.75 for a pint carton. They could probably use some earth colored weathering though! Quote
Broithe Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I had some sesame seed in a box once, but I never found out how to open it. Quote
RedRich Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I had some sesame seed in a box once, but I never found out how to open it. Nice one Jim. Quote
Glenderg Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 (edited) You'll need to defrost that porridge before you get stuck in, Dave CousCous looks the business too, so my wife says. Edited October 28, 2016 by Glenderg Quote
Garfield Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Some pre production beet loads I didn't realise you were branching out into energy bars, Dave! Are they scratchbuilt? Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 Moulderman, recently of this parish, is the culprit Barley and suchlike are too symetrical, whereas the beet has a top and tail Early doors yet but watch this space ( or his space) Working on some different loads forIrish outline wagons as well as some Irish buildings I will speak to you 2 comedians at the show Quote
leslie10646 Posted October 28, 2016 Author Posted October 28, 2016 But will we get the stray sugar beets as well? Please? Des Takes you to spot the ones they missed in the wagon! Interesting idea. I could do a vote on which kitchen cereal is nearest and put a handful in every kit? Leslie Quote
