Looks good, ttc. I like the 2700 and locos sitting behind it like Drogheda and Limerick always were till just a couple of years ago...

Was in Limerick station immediately pre-railcar. Stood at platform end watching a 141 shunting one BR van, then one Craven, and two trains sitting in the platforms, one would have been for Ballybrophy, the other Waterford or Rosslare, where it would reached about two days after leaving Limerick, weather permitting (thought that's another story!).

I thought that would make a great basis for a layout too.......

Stunning layout ttc. Followed Tara Jntn with great interest on the old site so looking forward to more developments and inspiration in future. I am a big fan of the 2600 railcar you have. I know there's a chap on this producing them in limited runs. Does he have a website by any chance? I would like to get a good look at a few close up pictures of it plus have an idea of price before making my mind up and buying. Cheers for the help and good luck with the changeover to DCC (something Im thinking about too) :-)

Hi Boskonay, thanks for the info. Will contact him shortly. Was thinking about alterering one of the Bachmann DMUs (class 158 I think maybe???) to suit and repainting it in IE colours. But It would never look as well as the one shown above. Tis exquisite work for sure:cool:

Cheers,

Shinkansen .

Great shot there Noel, and welcome to the dark side

of DCC.Are you going for the prodigy?.

Yes Eamonn-I've the prodigy ordered and I'm expecting it during the week,

The carpenter is due tomorrow with the new sections-so I'll have a busy week,

Many thanks Shinkansen for your comments about the layout,Give David a call-he is an absolute gentleman to deal with-don't bother with altering a 158,you won't be sorry with the quality of the 2600's-which have a DCC socket on board also,I'll post up more photos of the 2600's for you.

Thanks hidden agenda-I plan to relocate those containers in the refurbished Tara Jctn..

Morning lads,

Work is progressing on the refurbished Tara Junction,I got the DCC control up and running this evening and managed to get four passenger trains moving at the same time on the new high speed lines-a lovely sight, after programming more locos,my attention turned the the loco depot, again it was great to see locos being moved independently at incredibly slow speeds and with lights on around the depot as the four trains were passing on the mainlines,

I also have a new railcar stabling siding and depot for my 2600 fleet,I'll post some photos when I'm finished,

It was well worth the changeover to DCC control, but I still have a lot to learn about the system. Thanks again to Anthony,Enniscorthyman and Gerry Byrne for their helpful advice.

Evening lads,

A few photos of my new DCC controlled Tara Junction, yes you were right Anthony-it certainly has opened my eyes,

Two 201s are fitted with sound chips-229 at the carriage sidings and 220 at the running shed, they really make a difference to the overall layout when ticking over,

I also have a new railcar servicing shed for my 2600 DMUs,

Certainly DCC is the way to go-particularly with sound fitted locos.

Evening lads, here are a couple of photos of Tara Junctions new heavy haulage low loader being escorted through the centre of the town with a Garda escort,

The ICR is heading for Portlaoise depot for attention-the centre car is already at Mr Graham's workshop.
