The turfburner is a complex beast but should make for an excellent model and we wanted to do something uniquely Irish.

Now, has anyone got a sound recording?

What was the nature of the turf used? Was it variable 'hand-won' sods or more regular machine-turf? Or even milled peat, perhaps?

Is there a suitable 1/76th scale product available, or will you be able to provide a specialist substance?

Turf is not like coal, where you can just crush it to a suitable size. I spent several days cutting a sod into several thousand blocks, only to find that it isn't a stable material at those sizes.

Obviously, there will also need to be a specialist smoke oil.

Apparently, the Universe is infinite. There will be planets out there that already have turf-burners. Fact!

Milled peat won't actually work in the live steam version. It need to be cut using a left-handed sleán. Good modelling opportunity, actually.

Does anyone know whether there is an opportunity to purchase a bundle of turn burners @Warbonnet or do I have to wait to get the discount code from the A class model @Glenderg first to avail of that?

Would a left-footed one be better?

Our Company Workplace Policy on Clothing states - "Clothing that reveals too much cleavage, your back, your chest, your feet, your stomach or your underwear is not appropriate for a place of business, even in a business casual setting."

At no point had we envisaged arse cleavage being an issue. We hole-heartedly apologise.

What will be nice for fans of OVS Bulleid’s work is to be able to compare the turf burner alongside his SR main line diesel 1-Co-Co-1 courtesy of Kernow Models.

Good for all at IRM - a long felt want !! or a peat want ...  I think I understood the plans were used to smuggle A class drawings out of the works .....

and by sheer chance and a bit late I came across a GA for a  APT - E  while looking for something completely different  at home yesterday.

Eau de nil.... but faded!

Early colour photos show it originally in what may possibly be a mid grey. It looks as if it was repainted at one stage, despite its extremely short career. Possibly the first trial run was in works grey undercoat.....
