Emerald isle express

Recommended Posts

I spend enough of my time volunteering at the only full size preserved railway in Downpatrick at The Downpatrick & County Down Railway when I can and have been for since November 2011, and I have busy helping with the Plasser USP 3000C ballast regulator No.315 and Plasser 07 type tamper No.07, and the signal cabin & on running days I usually stand at the platform doors ticket punching. I was there since 0700 to 1700 yesterday and 0900 to 1811 today, on other days I'm usually there from 0900 (0r 1130 if I miss the bus) to 1700.

Ps, I Peffer Desail & railcars to steam.

This post is not to offend anyone in anyone, sorry if it does.

Not offended in the slightest. Glad you are doing your bit - keep it up.

Leslie

Snapper, many thanks for that, but the system said log into your FACEBOOK account or ELSE !!!!!!!!!, ( only joking about the last ) great pics, may get to Bray in time to see that go by,

Thanks for the heads up, I will pass that on to the person who runs the facebook account to see if anything can be done, as far as I know the idea was to have them visible to everybody, account or not.

You could view the piccies easily, I just clicked on the link - for which, thanks. Mind you it takes young Nelson to know how to get round the technology!

Absolutely stunning shots! Just goes to show how classy and elegant those coaches were! I'd pay good money to commute in one of those :)

The train then used the mothballed South Wexford Line to stable in Waterford overnight.

Have to say it did look really well on the move. Lovely bit of Autumn weather for it too. Really hope it works out for the RPSI and becomes a good money spinner for them.

Railtours Ireland are the promotors, not the RPSI, who I'm sure charged as required to cover their costs.

I see, but it's an income for the RPSI all the same.

The two newly painted Cravens look marvelous. As do the interior views. Hardly seems the same train that I travelled on during the IRRS outing to Limerick recently!

I got some shots of the tour in Limerick Junction along with a MK4 and a 2800.

SUPER video, GM171 KK!

Nice to hear the sound of that 071 and lots of little things like water towers etc, to help me with layout modeling!=D

One never can tell, Kirley......

I'll tell you one thing, though..... the RPSI crew who manned it all week were absolutely top notch... it made the job of the Railtours folks very satisfying and comfortably easy. Salutations to all involved in the support, maintenance, loco, dining car, stewarding and catering crew.
