enniscorthyman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Share Posted January 27, 2013 Got some more work done on the kit yesterday,and stuck on most of the brass etches.I got the tanks off the deltic donar chassis and now I have to see what the measurements are to get a good fit.What I plan to do is to cut and shut the deltic chassis to suit the B101 kit.I know the included brass chassis could be used but I am think of sticking the brass chassis over the deltic chassis for extra regidity,but I dont know if this will work.I will have to make plastic card sides for the fuel tanks and use the deltic weights to help in the structure being strong.Some of the cab windows will need some work in order to get them straight. enniscorthyman Posted February 20, 2013 Author Share Posted February 20, 2013 The tail lamps are not powered,and I got them On e bay from spring side models.The wagons came in kit form with chassis and I had to build and hand paint them.They are not normally sold as kits so I am Glad to be allowed to get them.They have a lot more detail than the MIR kits.I have to thank Anthony for the dirty 156 and where to get the tail lamps. I'd say DA99/5 are the ones that would be best suited to you Stephen. SSM do a nice kit now and they can be made working. The Springside ones are of an earlier type to the LED ones that IE use now. I think with most layouts running in day time settings the ones Eamonn has recommended would be fine. They used to do a set with one red lamp and the rest were clear so be careful.
