  1. Moc up of the railcar a body is conplete. I could not find any drawings from the D&B so I had to use drawing made up by the Kent and east Sussex railway. The mic up can out well. The only thing I dislike is the spaceing at the entrance of the model. It's quite simple but it's a start. I am also thinking about changing the scene of Glendelough road into a country scene. I think it would work a lot better and since it's a small model more realistic.
  2. Looks really good. The chassis Looks real sturdy for the job in hand.
  3. Whitehead would make a realy nice model. You could probally get it in 6 foot.
  4. The WT you could say had the best of all worlds. At the time the LMS were working on the flying pig and the 10000 diesel. The did not have the time to build a brand new loco with brand me parts for Ireland so they used what they had at the time. The result one of the best tank engine designs in Britain and Ireland.
  5. I thought a great deal about it but I am going to pass this one out. My railway piggy bank is not massive. I would buy a C if they make one.
  6. Sorry I have just seen the newish post. I am sorry to hear about the story of the local garden railway. Seems a pity to hear that it is idle. If you ever seen the tv show Black Adder you will know if you want something kill Blaldrick first. I hope that something comes of it.
  7. I am still thinking about getting one new or waiting until the second hand market gets its hands on them.
  8. Slow and steady wins the race. Realy good model. Hope to see more.
  9. It looks OO. The 4-4-0 behind it featured in new Irish a while back I think it was 2016.
  10. I am happy to say I have never bought from hattons or rails. Not even hornby. Ever since I started modeling 3/4years ago I have always went to Marks Models. And if I can not get the item in question u go to my local art and hobby shop. Don't think i will buy from hattons or rails probaly because I would rather wait 2/3 Months for a show for than buy it and wait less than a week even if the model I am looking for is not at the show in question.
  11. Does anyone know if she will fly over Athlone?
  12. The king came because of the Streamstown juntion incident in whitch 2 locos were damaged 1 loco that being Elephant destroyed completely.(I beleive) Funnily The shed that the IRA hid their "loot" would be on land that 10 years later my grandad would buy and rebuild the shed. The shed still stands only the design is not the same. MM
  13. There is a lot of stuff there about 540 items. Great find. Plus the prices are outrageously cheep. It is weird to sea that the gives are getting smaller. Before long it will be Z scale so the only use for paint brushes it to make puddles.
  14. Wow! You are master craftsman @warb.
  15. That must have been a pain when working on night beet trains.
  16. Realy well done Will there be a special addition A55 with no engine that is in Castlerea (hells kitchen)
  17. We would like every engine. For me a MGWR C class would be nice. I happy with tyhe stuff we got. Plus there is a new NCC W class.
  18. On some midland engines when they were withdrawn bits and bobs were given to collecters. The last cattle engine to go the westport line doom is in Castlerea.
  19. Only two midland engines had a chance of surviving into preservation. 603 was left in the old Athlone engine shed and 654 Clara as it was repainted by CIE in black in 1963. I do think that if a few were saved the would not be enough variety to have an intresting railway museum. All the pictures of the engines that I have seen reminded of the Barry 10 they were that bad.
  20. Of you have the new IRRS journal you will know of a list of 33 CIE engines that were pit aside for preservation but never happened. The list had engine numbers but no class numbers like J15. So I decided to find put what class was each engine. So here is what I found. The is 3 groups GNR MGWR GSWR There is no DSER or GSR in the list sadly. 461 I beleive was on display like 184 and 90. GNR 3N - I do not know this one fully but I am guessing UG class. 132N- Qs class 4-4-0 143N-? If any one knows this please reply saying so. That would be great. 204N- Antrim U class 4-4-0. 131-4-4-0 Qs class. This engine is preserved. MGWR 593- J18 0-6-0 599-J19 0-6-0 603-J19 0-6-0 574- J18 0-6-0 That is how far I have come. The rest are GSWR and are a mix of J15s and other 0-6-0s. A lot of CIE GNR stock ended up in Uta hands. hope you all like. MM
  21. Looks realy good the platforms look amazing.
  22. Looks amazing!!
  23. 603 ended up in athlone and was going to be preserved but was cut up. I did sea a pic of 654 in Inchicore in realy good condition in about 1963 and I beleive it was put to one side to be given to the cultra like meadh but this never happened. Sadly.
  24. What engine are you going to number it?
  25. By god that is amazing!!! Sorry Hornby and Bachman. There is a new king in town!
