  5. Hey all Just want to say after seeing @murrayec pics of Frys models i searched to see if he made a model of the ford rail car and found this.. http://gofree.indigo.ie/~nigelo/model.htm It looks like i have something to use for my first model that i am going to build and that is the rail car. shapeways make a model built i want to build it me self. The real thing is quite a square object so it should be a small bit hard but i think i can do it. Stay safe MM
  6. I have done a small amount of conversions. I built a NCC brake van using a LNER brake van body. scratch built chassis[ same length as a Hornby 4 wheeler]and plaster card to cover the ends. have to say look very convincing but i lost the model but next time i sea a second hand one i am going to have to get it. https://www.downrail.co.uk/rolling-stock/ncc-brake-van-33/ Looks great by the way.
  7. It's looks Athlone only the building in the back doesn't look like the good shed and its certainly not Glavins shed. 027 is probally the shunter from Glavins. Funnily 028 a. Umber up from the engine in the pic was the last engine to leave Galvins shed in 1984. The shed is no longer with us but the old shed ( the one near the station) is. Do you have any pics of Athlone GSWR or the what the locals call it the southern station?
  8. May in ask what was the price as it seem quite pricey. But than again Modeling the 60s cheaply an destroy a models stay safe MM

  10. Good to see that your making progress. After the wagons you should build one of theses....
  11. Hey all Glendelogh road will be my first step into O gauge. I have longed to go into it and now is my chance. The layout will be based on parts of the D&B,the same with buildings. The layout will be a micro layout as well it will be used for exhibitions. The track plan will be realy simple. Just a straight line. The reason I have chosen Thi is that D&B stations were more like halts. Another reason is that I find that some layouts ar packed with track and look unrealistic. I any one has any info on liverys or even drawings please come forward as I am never 100% sure on any railway liverys. Stay safe everyone MM
  12. Love the figure. Going to have to get on of those kits when my to do list ends.
  13. When the SLNCR B was bought by CIE in 1959 when its home line closed was it painted green or orange and black? Is there any pics?
  14. What does the front cover look like.
  15. What paint did you use? The first pic looks Humbrol gloss 2 and the second looks light olive 86 mixed or a Matt 155 but the 155 may be a bit too dark.
  16. Is this one of the D and B rail car re gauged?
  17. While looking for LLSR color pics i found this. You got the color spot on. Stay safe everyone MM
  18. I have heard it once or twice. Their kits were sold at the old Phibsboro model rail shop. Will any of these links help....... https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/83139-mcgowan-models/
  19. WLWR G3 had outside frames but that was all the engines I though had it. The LNER and GWR (mainly tanks for the GWR) did quite a few with that while the LMS did Inside frames probally due to the LSWR. MM
  20. Will This help anyone..? Taken by Conrad Natzio. Hope there is not a copyright. stay safe MM
