  3. can you get steam era as those look 70s/80s.
  4. Pity there was only one preserved.
  5. sound great. First thing to do is practice designing it.
  6. They were used for coal a balast and probally withdrawn when CIE got the GNRI balast wagons. MM
  7. the were made in Denmark the were used for seating
  8. Hi @GNRi1959 One of hard things I sea in N gauge is livery. The reason being is that you don't want to sea lumps of paint not a plastic feel so for reapainting use a air brush.
  9. There's a other side!. Lovely models. For older cars paint different parts like a door or a windmirror in different colors to show that the person who owns the veichle does not bother in reapainting them. Plus it make a more realistic seen.
  10. Unfortunately the book has a lot of CIE photos and quite little MGWR. Check out the Ken null colection as that has a lot of MGWR in MGWR days. Have you put up the work bench tread as a lot of people (in my mind a lot of people but you never know) would really like to sea so of the modeling and learn tips( that includes me) in painting excetra.
  11. Bolder Creek model railroad show the the best cheap 3D printers.
  12. Love the pics I have seen a lot of them that is because my Grandad was given a copy before he died and it was the only book I wanted to read. By the way I gave your book on Achill to me Grandmother am she thought it was a great read. MM
  13. I been a member for 3 years now and I have to say the indfomation is priceless. Ernie Shepard is a member a rights in th journals quite often. As for MGWR stuff a lot of it will be in older journals with his can be bought for penny's second hand. Cart wait to sea what you make as from the English stuff you have a lot of experience. My favorite thing about model railways is that unlike Hobys like golf or cycling you're wealth is not about what kit or expensive bike or driver you have its what you know that is you're wealth not what you got. Keep it up. MM
  14. Sure the Mullingar to Athlone last track maintenance was in the 1950s when it was given new sleepers and new plates of whitch the track was layed. The old engine shed (the near the Midland station) the track leading into it could be from the 1920s.
  15. Forgot to mention that the real engine had the same amount of sut as a million fireplaces. One of the class worked on Cork tramway with Brandon tanks and number 90 and the J26 (560 I think) but I have to say that your engine has one of best paint jobs on this form. Plus the lighting on the layout is and the colur of the number is like a Jauguar E type. Just beautiful.
  16. If they relaid the entire railway the would have probally used concrete sleeper for economic reasons. Sure Athlone had Woden sleepers until about 5 years ago an is quite common (Woden sleepers) on the Galway line.
  17. How do you mess around when it looks so amazing. How did you building those lovely buildings. Keep it up. MM
  18. Hi @David Holman its not really made to scale and it's not meant to be perfect it just made for fun until I get SSM kits (probally MGWR closed wagon and GSR open wagon) and some kit to work with. So where can you get soldering heads and flux (could not find it at Marks.
  19. Does any one how where you can get a green flying snail?
  20. Some nice stock perfect for an Island bridge juntion layout. Can not wait to sea more.
  21. This may sound stupid but Sunday school special to Greenmore.
  22. 654 Clara was painted black by CIE and was a clean a RPSI engine should have been preserved. MM
