  1. Beautiful. My favourite livery too!
  2. Gorgeous!
  3. The issue isn't really the kadee, but the fact that NEM isn't adhered to 100%. So some manufacturers coupling sockets are higher of lower than others. For the cravens, I got away with bending the kadee slightly, or slipping some thin platiccard under the coupler.
  4. Ah! That makes sense!! Stunning looking models!
  5. Wow, wow wow, that entire scene is just gorgeous!
  6. You are more than welcome to set up a sub forum here if you like. As said above we don't lay claim to everything you upload, won't show you ads or track your posts to show you better add and we store your content in an easy to search fully indexed way ( as well as blogs, gallery's and our growing resource section). From the data, fora for small communities are going from strength to strength. The data from both here and rmweb show growth in the 100's of percent per year.
  7. They 'scrub up well' with a little work, though the underframes are incredibly basic compared to Paddys work. We're just so spoiled these days with so many top-notch RTR diesels!
  8. I guess boxed sets like the one on ebay at the moment are selling purely to collectors. I've probably got 6 'running' Limas, as opposed to the boxed mint ones, which have been weathered, detailed, etc, some even have DCC chips installed on the old Lima motors. they still sound like tractors, but look good
  9. I guess the Limas are heading for the shelf so
  10. Not worth the effort? I've heard mixed reviews of the model torque too...
  11. Just came across this http://www.diesel-trains.co.uk/shop.html Specifically this one, suitable for the Lima 201 for just £12.50
  12. Lovely work ! I'd disable any of the youtube / stability / options on upload as they tend to make the videos give you motion sickness!
  13. The Murphy release can still be found, albeit they tend to be a little pricey now given the rarity and small run...
  14. I've seen costs of £200 per square foot for layout building to a 'moderate' standard. If you want exhibition/museum grade, keep adding...
  15. I think lots of modelers would echo that but the economics have to work I guess. Even a twin pack of standards would likely sell very well.
  16. In my experience the best sound reduction is achieved with ballasted foam underlay. Gauge master/noch make excellent versions in both grey and brown ballast. Followed by woodlands scenics foam and copydex fixed ballast. Foam or cork with Pva set ballast is in my opinion just about the same as ballasting right into the baseboard from a sound point of view but you do get the elevation and ballast shoulder.
  17. Exquisite - love the wet, drizzely, irishness of it all!! Stunning work!
  18. Lovely shots - the GM's look well at home on the valley!
  19. Station closed after landslide http://www.thejournal.ie/waterford-train-station-landslide-1245324-Jan2014/
  20. Happy new year!! I wonder what treats 2014 will bring us!!
