Nice colour picture on back of August 2024 BACKTRACK - a steam loco being turned at Kingscourt on an IRRS excursion in the early 1960's. Huge number of people involved -Although a long time ago, anybody recognise those involved ?

The current Rai!way Magazine has an article on the proposals for developing Irish railways - including a new branch from Derry to Letterkenny. No mention of 4-8-0s though...

They would have to actually build a completely new line, as both the Pennyburn and circuitous Strabane lines would not be possible to reopen without knocking down half of Derry. One may asume that they would continue the existing Waterside line across the road, past the old CDR station, and across a brand new bridge south of the existing one, probably at an oblique angle; then off down the GN for a short distance, then a completely new line due west. Best route would be down to Carrigans, then directly across to Manorcunningham.

Not an article, but was surprised, delighted, indeed - honoured - to find that in the free 2025 calender with this month's Railway Modeller, Fintonagh is the picture for July. Lovely photo taken by CM editor Andrew Burnham.

Excellent and well deserved publicity. We should all do all we can to support Ireland's only preserved standard gauge line!

That's a big ask, and so broad that it would take many days/weeks of work to respond fully. There must be over a thousand different items of rolling stock within that remit.

Perhaps you could make a list of what you have already and where it came from, and post it here? Also which books/websites you have checked already?

Then people might be more motivated to try and fill the gaps, and it would become a resource that everyone could share and benefit from.

Edit – just realised you’re after drawings not photos. I think you’d need to start another thread on this

To be specific as the selection like u mentioned is so broad, im after Locos, Coaches, Railcars(push-pulls) and Wagons from MGWR, GNRI, DSER, CBSCR and NCC
So simply in other words, all standard gauge rail stock from the 1940s to present day is my kind of cake

And thank god for the FOIS as if i ever need any modern railcars, i can always go on there which is brilliant and currently awaiting drawings from them
