Typical. Dress it up as a "misguided artistic endeavor" and you get a slap on the wrist. Mindless vandalism is what it is. Simple as that.

VERY much so. Personally, if I was a judge, I would be exceptionally hard on graffiti vandals.

I wonder would they like their flash car given a similarly artistic treatment.

Totally right!

Three Spanish men who spray painted the exteriors of four DART carriages as part of a "misguided artistic endeavour" have each received a suspended prison sentence.

“Suspend” it and it gives them more time to vandalise something else!

If theres no room in the Jail for anto the rapist and his 300 previous convictions then what hope is there for a trio of "Art enthusiasts" who either do not reside in the state or have an easy means to get out of it.

On the balance of it, that would be a far more serious crime.

Is the compensation awarded enough to cover the cost of damages and repairs?

A suspended sentence seems reasonable enough.

As long as the nearest lampposts are structurally sound enough for the job.

And especially if we are allowed to choose what they are suspended by...

There again, if you have ever visited the Naples area, the stock of the Circumvesuvious Railway is SO plastered with graffiti that it is impossible to know what it original livery might have been.

I have long held onto my own principle that I will refuse point blank ever to travel by any means of transport with graffiti on it. I don't care if the taxi is 40 times the price. Greek and Italian stock looks disgusting.

Happens nearly all the time! Or at least, it seems like it...

There's a few videos on Youtube of censored vandalists spraying units (particularly the DART units) with paint and ruining them altogether.

I don't know how, but people are disguising themselves as staff and head into Fairview depot to ruin these hard-working units...

Scumbags.

IE need snipers to deal with these morons.

It’s horrible vandalism but these guys have incredible precision in terms of aerosol application. I suspect they could apply those skills in a far more remunerative and positive way by spraying models and not 1:1….

Snipers have incredible precision too.........................   😉
