josh_ Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Just now, Mike Beckett said: Opening days are limited currently, they are available on our website - www.downrail.co.uk. The ‘new’ locos will not be directly accessible by the public. There aren’t any non-family events added at the moment other than our diesel running day, but some will be added soon. Thanks so much Quote
josh_ Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Also as u are one of many at downpatrick planning and placing new track, was there ever a plan to have the route expanded up north of the former line to crossgar? Quote

derek Posted Thursday at 18:57 Posted Thursday at 18:57 What locos are in Moyasta at present.? Passed that way couple weeks ago and could see a 121 and 141 I think, but I believe there are two others? Was driving at the time and my better half didn't appreciate me having my eyes on the trains instead of the road so I couldn't get a great look . Quote
MD220 Posted Thursday at 19:07 Posted Thursday at 19:07 121 class no. 124, 141 class no. 152, 181 class no. 190 and A class nos 003 and 015. All but 015 belong to the Irish Traction Group. Quote

A3 and 152 are behind the other locos so you can’t see them from the road Total discrace, someone should do something to save them Edited Friday at 14:08 by GSWR 90 1 2 Quote

Their place in Carrick-on-Suir is oversubscribed as it is. The semi-wrecked stock makes a suitably intimidating backdrop for films; you may have seen the somewhat violent Calm With Horses 1 Quote

There simply isn’t sufficient interest in this country. If it was England, and A3 was a derelict Deltic, money, volunteers and more and more money would come out of the woodwork! 1 1 Quote

MD220 Posted Friday at 19:46 Posted Friday at 19:46 I think @GSWR 90's posts should be taken as a little tongue in cheek. Refer to previous posts by @Mike Beckett 1 1 Quote
Mol_PMB Posted Friday at 20:06 Posted Friday at 20:06 Ok, Sorry, I had looked at the content rather than the identity of the person posting. As someone who has given close to a thousand man days and tens of thousands of pounds/euros to railway preservation projects I get particularly wound up by people saying ‘someone’ should do ‘something’! I confess my involvement in Irish preservation is limited to a weekend working on 226 with Aidan Brosnan at Carrick, and spending a chunk of money on railtours and entrance fees at various sites. 2 Quote

Irish preservation has just as many lamenting the lack of "somebody"'s as the Isle of Brexit has also! 1 Quote

GSR 800 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Far too consistent and accurate for AI atm, good as its getting. Just some weird zoom effect or something with that camera. There is unfortunately a huge uptick in AI and AI scripted crap going around, but that's beside the point Quote
Killian Keane Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Good lord stuff leaving Moyasta? time to buy a lottery ticket now as long as we dont get someone handcuffing themself to the loco we're laughing.. 2 Quote

No SKEM graffiti on that coach anywhere; clearly, fake news. And it's not absolutely lashing rain? So much for artificial intelligence. Jokes aside, good to see these locos being taken somewhere safe. 37 minutes ago, Killian Keane said: Good lord stuff leaving Moyasta? time to buy a lottery ticket now as long as we dont get someone handcuffing themself to the loco we're laughing.. Mol_PMB Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Fortunately they’re not following in 5T’s footsteps to the USA. The next hurdle would be this week’s steel tariff percentage! Great work by all involved. Quote
