IRM tell me that the grasshoppers on sale from Tuesday next. DCC extra, with working chirp recordings. Livery options: green (as shown), browny-grey Northern European version, or Norwegian blue. 

Preorders now - €27 without DCC, €87.50 with DCC, and VAT and Brexitcustoms fees combined with postal charges €248.64.

Oh no! The browny-grey and Norweigan blue I can take, but why did they go for the GREEN version, now we're going to have all the usual controversy over the shade of green and whether they are really Eau-de-Nil grasshoppers etc.....

call that a Grasshopper! this is a real grasshopper!  A Giant Weta little problem with needing a bigger box. Smaller variety sometimes hibernate in my workshop

[I should add that I thoroughly approve of the big boxes as they have saved a couple of my deliveries from damage when thrown over the gate by the courier]

More a larger box than needed for the other much smaller species of grasshopper, apart from the minor technicality of exporting a legally protected species, ensuring it survived the trip and made it through bio-security on arrival. Or maybe I am just talking through my hat as I get older

My 15 year old is currently agonising about bringing one of our cats "James" home from the States (16 hrs flights-6 months quarantine) when the other half returns later this year, chances of someone adapting James are slim, not sure he would remember us after the flights and quarantine, or integrate him with our other cats, but difficult to leave a good mouser behind. 

Going more and more off topic by the moment, though should have some IRM/Accuracraft Grain Wagons on the way in the not too distant future.

Funnily enough, this was the shipment ahead of me being collected from the airport last summer when I was collecting an IRM shipment..

Not sure  what type of grasshoppers the frogs inside would prefer, but they would probably struggle with one of @Mayners wetas

Great excitement, I've now had a text from DPD who have a parcel for me! And a flood of e-mails as I'd somehow put the orders in separately!

Of course, I know what a H Van looks like as my kit built runs are dotted here and there!

(But not a grain van!).

I just got a VAT invoice from DPD this morning requesting payment before they'll release my wagons (on which I've already paid VAT). Someone has screwed up.

I'm rather confused. I'm hoping it will all sort itself out in the next week or so, and I don't need an immediate answer to this!

I paid for my two packs of H vans just before Christmas, at which time I was expecting them to be shipped from Ireland to me in GB. The invoices were for £63.00 sterling for each pack, but did not explicitly include any shipping, tax or discount. My understanding at the time was that the VAT would be collected from me by the courier when they were shipped from Ireland, and that the shipping charge was free. 

Now that they are being shipped from GB, I could see that there may be a need collect the VAT that I didn't pay before. I'm not averse to paying the tax due, but I hope it doesn't come with a handling fee as well (which seems quite common with couriers, and often the handling fee is more than the VAT due). 

I also have a feeling that the two packs will end up being sent separately and then I may have to pay any handling fee twice!

The advertised price for a pack of H vans on the AS website now is £74.94 including VAT, which is 19% greater than £63.00. UK VAT is 20% so something doesn't add up there either, effectively the price currently advertised is less than it was a few months ago, once VAT is accounted for. 

At present my orders aren't even showing up on the AS website, so perhaps I'm a bit further down the queue. I don't mind if they take a few more weeks to turn up, but I'd rather not be stung with a load of extra fees.
