Dave Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Just got this stunner from Anthony today, what an amazing job. Quote
UP6936 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Very nice! I'm sure you're well pleased with that beauty! Quote
Dave Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Very nice! I'm sure you're well pleased with that beauty! The picture doesn't do it justice, I'm delighted with it Quote
heirflick Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) lovely!....all you need now are taras, timber, container flats and pocket wagons!! sell the fatted calf quick! Edited May 20, 2013 by heirflick Quote
Railer Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 lovely!....al you need now are taras, timber, container flats and pocket wagons!! sell the fatted calf quick! You can put it with some autoballasters, 077 did a small stint with them between Drogheda and Dundalk one weekend. Looks far better than the freight livery, think the yellow face just takes from the whole thing. Quote
Dave Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 I want to run it with timber wagons, might have to get two more done for Taras and containers! Quote
John-r Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 That really looks the part that livery is looking better every day enjoy dave Quote
skinner75 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Very very tasty! The new livery certainly has grown on me. I do love the previous silver & black too though Quote
BosKonay Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 A lovely job Dave!! She'll be well at home on that new layout!! Quote
Dave Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Thanks lads, it will be a while before it gets to run on the new layout as I'm moving in the next few months so it is on hold. I'll be pulling up the old layout and boxing everything up Quote
Sulzer201 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Congrats Dave she really does look the business. Quote
jhb171achill Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I'm actually beginning (just about!) to prefer that all-grey to the black and silver! Probably mostly because there's less yellow.... Quote
UP6936 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 I agree jhb, I even notice the overbearingness of full yellow fronts when comparing 3000 and 4000 class CAFs. the 4000s look a lot smarter and the same goes for the repainted 071s Quote
Dave Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 I was a little worried that I wouldn't like it, but when I seen it today I loved it. Black and silver was always my favourite, but I have a new one now! Quote
aclass007 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 It will be interesting to see how the new livery weathers........ Quote
burnthebox Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Dave, she's a beaut, sorry I did'nt take the time today to see her close up, ( did'nt know you were awaiting her arrival at the fair ) anyway now don't forget the video, as for the yellow the jury's still out on that, enjoy, Quote
Railer Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 It will be interesting to see how the new livery weathers........ As it is 077 still looks brand new from the paint shop despite spending 5 weeks so far on the taras and a small ballast run to Dundalk. I saw it on Friday afternoon in the sunshine at Killester and only the bogies are rust brown. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 the bogies are rust brown. Noel informed me that 077 had her newly painted bogies replaced at the last minute by a set of refurbished unpainted boggies. That's why they are dirtier than the rest of the loco. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Glad you like her Dave the look on your face today when I took her out of the box was priceless. Any of you other guys looking for one of your locos repainted you know where to find me. Quote

heirflick Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 dave - just spotted the broken lamp iron on the right side, did you damage it or is it missing on the real thing? Quote
irishthump Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Lovely paint job, Anto. Certainly looks the part! Quote
