Robert Shrives Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Snap George ! I have one as a 111 pending the urge to finish. I found fitting the bonnet side hand rails a real PITA yours much better in Video any chance of a still so I can learn a better better way - and then blatantly copy. Thanks Robert
Georgeconna Posted June 27, 2022 Author Posted June 27, 2022 Hi Robert, As I painted a number of MM's 071 into grey without the front Grab Rails I kept those and used them on this one. just popped them into the drill holes! (presume you mean those?) I used Class 31 buffers as the white metal ones are a bit chunky. Replaced the brake hoses with finer white metal ones and I will have brass horns on it too. 2
Georgeconna Posted June 27, 2022 Author Posted June 27, 2022 Next in line is this one, Pretty complex livery TBH 1
Georgeconna Posted June 30, 2022 Author Posted June 30, 2022 Bit of Weathering on it. Runs quite nicely. 20220629_232128.mp4 390054864_20220629_230735(1).mp4 4 1

Georgeconna Posted July 2, 2022 Author Posted July 2, 2022 Lashing away on the KE, Very complicated to mask, Need to close the white lining 8 1
murphaph Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 My oh my that looks like a tricky masking job George. How are you doing it with the variable width swooshes, cutting them out by hand? 1
Georgeconna Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 Getting there. Small Warp in the chassis but easy nuff to sort out. 11 1
Georgeconna Posted November 6, 2022 Author Posted November 6, 2022 There was a Mimimum space challenge on a previous form and this was being built for it before the forum went away. It languished on a shelf for the past 7 years+ I'd say so I thought I might try to finish the bugger afte I rest a soldering Iron on it. Might re look at this challenge again. I think it was 4 ft x2ft r summit and do a little Irish Layout. In the mean time Lunch tomorrow with the missus to offset the shed load of boxes due tomorrow from Marks and IRM!! 10
Georgeconna Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 Decided to treat myself to a few things this week after flogging off a good bit of stuff I will never use. 2 sound decoders for a 141 / 181 from roads and rails. Speaker fits in without any surgery. Also a dapol signal controller an SR Signal. The signals do add an extra dimension. I suspect the GWR ones with a replaced arm would do for irish. So easy to install although the Dynamis programming did not work so the Z21 came to the rescue here and so easy 20230522_224836.mp4 20230523_225747.mp4 20230523_213831.mp4 10

Gabhal Luimnigh Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 Great progress George, negotiations are always better than conflict according to the UN anyway 1
