thewanderer Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 Two completely different systems which will never interact. Therefore no need for it. The only bugger is if you go searching for 4006 on my website you will get both types unless you put in the stock type (MKIV or LUAS4000) to filter the results to the correct type of stock. And last time I checked a tram is not a bus!!!:mad: Quote
josefstadt Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 .... as this is 4006, does that mean that the Mk IV DVT needs an '8' or something put in front of it to distinguish it from the 'bus' in the photo? Why would it need to be distinguished from the MkIV DVT? While they are both rail-based transportation systems, the two items of rolling stock are owned by different organisations so the question of a common numbering scheme doesn't arise. Quote
DiveController Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) That makes sense. Thanks to both of you for the clarification And last time I checked a tram is not a bus!!!:mad: THat's why I said 'bus' in refereence to the NIR bus and NIR-owned 201 class locomotives. I know what a tram is. However this is a large (electrically) motorized mass transit vehicle on a very fixed route for payment, is it not? So no need to get irate at those of us not so endeared to the Luas, please Ref. Oxford Dictionary (English) Bus 1 A large motor vehicle carrying passengers by road, especially one serving the public on a fixed route and for a fare: 2 Computing ...... etc Edited April 27, 2015 by DiveController Typo Quote
Broithe Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I wonder if there was a 4006 trolleybus to further complicate the issue...? Quote

Weshty Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Ahhhh, I never get tired of the look of the intercity, it's a very pleasing combination of steel and greenery. And nothing compares to standing at a level crossing 6 feet from it hammering past you at 90mph! Quote
