Two completely different systems which will never interact. Therefore no need for it. The only bugger is if you go searching for 4006 on my website you will get both types unless you put in the stock type (MKIV or LUAS4000) to filter the results to the correct type of stock.

And last time I checked a tram is not a bus!!!:mad::mad::mad:

.... as this is 4006, does that mean that the Mk IV DVT needs an '8' or something put in front of it to distinguish it from the 'bus' in the photo?

Why would it need to be distinguished from the MkIV DVT? While they are both rail-based transportation systems, the two items of rolling stock are owned by different organisations so the question of a common numbering scheme doesn't arise.

That makes sense. Thanks to both of you for the clarification

And last time I checked a tram is not a bus!!!:mad::mad::mad:

THat's why I said 'bus' in refereence to the NIR bus and NIR-owned 201 class locomotives. I know what a tram is.

However this is a large (electrically) motorized mass transit vehicle on a very fixed route for payment, is it not? So no need to get irate at those of us not so endeared to the Luas, please

Ref. Oxford Dictionary (English)

Bus

1 A large motor vehicle carrying passengers by road, especially one serving the public on a fixed route and for a fare:

2 Computing ...... etc

Picture of the RPSI South Munster Railtour so far...http://smu.gs/1DZcQyN

Fab scene and photo. If somebody could only photoshop the disintegrating gsv into the same smart livery. Does anybody know if the other gsv currently being refurbished will have a matching livery with the cravens or will it be B&T?

Thanks for the kind comments guys. inspiration for that photo must go to Finnyus though for his shot of 233 at that location.

Another great day for steam fans in Cork and Kerry with the RPSI's 85 and 461 in action with a trip between Cork - Cobh - Cork - Killarney - Cork. Just a pity the weather was dire compared to Saturday's sun.

What a fabulous setting Neil, great shot!

Some more of Merlin yesterday, and other shots such as 088 on the liner and 206 before she failed in Kildare as well as others on my flickr

Great shots all round, Merlin looks fantastic :) Something I've always noticed though, which is visible in these shots, is what cowboy built the wobbly block wall alongside the house on the northbound side!

Cheers Barl. I never noticed the wall before, but it's part of a property of a person I'm not sure I'd want to mess with I believe!
