They sure are DJ…..they really capture the look of the interior-just as I remember them in service.

Wow! That depot itself is a masterpiece in its own right! The fact that its creator is a lifetime professional railwayman shows through in bucketloads…..

A rare sight was seen passing through Tara junction station this morning when locomotive 133 operated bonnet first while working a Guinness transfer liner to the Lakeview freight yard,

The train consisted of four MX two axle wagons.
(MX wagons please if possible IRM)👍

Friday night operating session on Tara junction we see;

CIE liveried locomotive 086 work a Tralee-Dublin Heuston Cravens service,

Fresh from the paint shop sporting IR white stripe livery is locomotive 080 hauling the Dublin Heuston-Ballina FO Cravens set.

Locomotive 220 hauling the refurbished Mk2 set working a Galway-Dublin Heuston service.

161+132 have been a late substitute for a failed 084 hauling the Mk3 set from Waterford-Dublin Heuston.

The track level and platform level shots are sublime, TTC!

Just out of curiosity, after watching 161 and 132, is there (and was there back then) redundancy built into the rail network?

Is there a spare loco on standby, or does launching a rescue mission require cancelling something else?

If there is redundancy, where would the spare tend to be lurking?

There is a Class 201 on standby duty  in Cork

Back in the day-locomotives would be taken off freight or permanent way trains for failure situations-as locomotives were more numerous around the network then,

Rescue locomotives nowadays would come from Inchicore,Cork,Limerick,Portlaoise or Drogheda.

A nighttime permanent way possession of Tara junction has now been implemented in order to facilitate the operation of the track cleaning coach around the hard to reach areas of the layout.
The crew of locomotive 201 prepare to start the cleaning process which forms an essential part of any model railway operations.

Love it, TTC, have always wondered about track cleaning on such a large and spectacular layout.

Thanks DJ- I also used a gauge master track rubber for the east to reach areas of the layout.

If Carlsberg did rail cleaners
Probably the best rail cleaner around
Uses a chemical to clean so no scratching with rubbers etc

Thanks for the heads up, David. Every time I've looked at it it appears to be out of stock everywhere.
