And hopefully we'll see these one day, too!

Six Irish liveries to choose from (City Imp, blue and cream, blue and yellow, Today FM, Olympics, McGonagles of Donegal) plus the Chester and McColl exports, plus the other UK liveries.

So there are two different blue and yellows?

yes the blue yellow colour was the same but you had the old white logo and then the new yellow black log

Apologies if this has been done to death in the past, but am I alone in thinking there must surely be a market for a limited RTR run of any incarnations of the Leyland Leopards used in rural Ireland in the period 1960s to 80s??

i know there have been kits etc, but what with the growth of Irish modelling surely its now or never?

I think that Corgi and EFE have done them RTR.

The only one I have ever seen and picked up is the brown and umber leopard/panorama in cie tours livery. I was thinking more of the M series and the many before. Surely no branch line station is complete without them?

No, they would not be. Also C and E class and atlantean would be very popular

Warbonnet gave a very firm "no" to competing with the Facebook Resin Specialist ranges, so you can scratch an Atlantean off your list!

Nope. We don't compete with first class products and the resin Van Hool is certainly that. There were a few runs of the KD Bombardiers and the Standard D Atlanteans from the same stable, so imagine it will be the same for the Van Hools.

Possible easy re-livery job.

Now, I preface this by saying that I know very little about buses at all, but I believe this one is a standard type, as its a 1950s bought model, now in storage in Malahide Castle. It's not Fry's - it was re-liveried for the castle layout in the 1990s, in CIE livery, though it's an old model - presumably owned by someone else.

However, it is worth mentioning as yokes like this were commonplace in rural areas in the 1950s. My knowledge of buses does not extend to confirming whether this is an EXACT type used here, or one which is just very like one that did - nor can i say how common they were.

In any event, one at least was based in Galway, it seems, as late as about 1961.

I took pics of this one this afternoon as I was poking about in the castle looking for things, bits'n'bobs, and stuff. The CIE green is authentic for steam locos, buses, road lorries, station paintwork, and passenger coaches which were painted between 1945 and 1955.

Would it be worth IRM doing a run of a 00 scale equivalent of these? This one is 7mm scale, or as close to that as needs be.

Ah! Well, there we go - we might live in hope?

Almost sure that I read somewhere here on the forum that the Irish variant had the same chassis but a different body. Not 100% sure on that.

I'm guessing that IRM will tease us for as long as possible before a monstrous climax of 1990's two-tone green Dublin Bus, the Holy Grail of model buses.

So what else is coming in the Olympian range before then?

A yellow and blue pair will be a no-brainer, as will a blue and cream pair, but might the rare ones also appear?

Like the Heinz and Chef pair?

Or the learner bus and the tree-cutter?

Or a Swatch and Esso pair?

Or the black and white Wedding Bus and the "It Could Be You" bus?

How about a Bartons and Gormanston pair?

Or a Nite Link and Premier Inn pair?

That's about three years worth of bus foreplay before the big one.

Hmmmmmmm.....

Feels like a while since a bus announcement...

There must be one on the way for filling the Christmas stockings?

You wait ages, then three turn up in a row.    🚌   🚌   🚌

Are you hinting that it'll be three different destinations on the next batch???

Maybe they'll be variable, via a DCC chip?

The blinds leading the blinds...

For the extra cost of the DCC chip, it would also need to emit Co2 or something to make you nauseaous, for that authentic bus-home-from-town nostalgia trip.

I'll take a two-tone green trio any day!

Yeah, that little cloud of cigarette smoke around the back seats, forgot about that! That DCC chip will have a lot of work to do.

In my RPSI days I recall having to excort a few northern colleagues down from Heuston to Inchicore. One of my Dublin teammates suggested 'take them down on the 79, it will be a cultural experience for them'.

A friend sent me this photo of his Panorama. Just thought that it was nice so I'd share it here.
