  1. Very impressive work, well done.
  2. Fantastic job on the CAF. Your 42's are looking gold strong.
  3. I love this layout so much.
  4. A fine machine they were, and such a great sound at full cry.
  5. You are right Alan, the Hornby Deltic chassis is far too long for the A class body, hence the the chassis has to be cut in the middle and Deltic fuel tank removed. When you buy the A class resin body, you get the fuel tank sides and a bit of plastic card will finish off the missing bit in the middle. The resin kit also comes with the bogie side frames which match up nicely on the Deltic bogies. My workbench has some photos of my build of a39.
  6. Noel it's the unreleased Zimo Mr sound guy A class sound chip that was recorded from a39 a few years ago at Downpatrick.I was with Keith (Mr sound guy) on the day for assistance as Gerry Byrne had organised permission from Downpatrick and ITG for recordings. The chip is unreleased at the moment but Keith is to look at it again.
  7. A little video of my own A class that has the Hornby Deltic chassis, and SSM detail kit.The deltic chassis is not bad at slow speed and the only problem I find is traction, mainly because the bass reflex speaker takes up a lot of space. She can haul 11 cement wagons no bother.
  8. Or you can buy a resin body from DC kits, a Hornby Deltic for its chassis and Studio Scale Models for the detail parts, then paint it in a livery that you like.Quickest way is rtr from silver fox.
  9. Cheers Des.It's a nice kit and I am enjoying it so far, no cursing just yet.The ballast plough van may wait till after Christmas as I want to get one 42 flat done before then.Well done on such wonderfull kits Des. Thanks to Glenderg for his excellent help.
  10. A small update on my 42 flat build. Hard to get time to get out to the shed to do a bit of work, however I have the underside and main body glued together and one bogie is ready for bogie sides.
  11. Top job, very nice.
  12. Lucky you Tom.You can't beat a nice rake of bubbles.
  13. The tankers are the standard Dapol East oil wagons that SSM have a brass kit to make them Irish. It's well worth your while Rich giving these a go if it's your first time doing brass.I am using superglue and it works fine.
  14. I got my twin ballast plough vans from SSM today, along with the 42 bogie flats.First I need to finish my final 3 oil tanks which were started this weekend. As work will be busy this next few weeks,I might have to leave the new Kits till after Christmas, not to mention the Wickham inspection car that needs to be finished.I just bought two 42 flats to see how they go.
  15. Great idea:-bd
  16. Great shots of the Wickham inspection car David.
  17. I have a SF C class 225 that I bought rtr. she runs ok but a bit noise and slow speed is not great. Not sure what chassis is underneath.
  18. The 001 chip is by Mr Soundguy, but is not available just yet.
  19. Rich,If you check out my workbench page 24/25,I have a bit on my A39 with sound chip.If you are ever Down Wexford way you are welcome for a demo of all the sound chipped locos incl 001 class. The 071 chip(Sound Guy) is by far the best, however the 201 will have improvments as well I am sure. 20. Nice layout Rich, and how well does the class 73 chassis run.
  21. A work of art, very nice.
  22. I really like the realdrive aspect of this chip. The Rev up coming into a Station is nice.
  23. Look forward to your video Noel. The way the new speaker fits into the loco sounds a great idea.
  24. Lovly job on 087 Ant, love the open door.
