  1. Is there any markings on them Eoin?
  2. I thought for a moment you were going to melt them down and build O guage 800 class locos out of them .
  3. The best MK2a FK were the ones done by Bachmann, the Mk2b FK were done by Lima are ok a bit dated but you can pick them up easy enough.
  4. Not wanting to go off in tangents or be too pedantic but worth pointing out as far as I'm aware that 4101,4102 and 4110 as built were Mk2a, 4108 was a Mk2 as built , the main visual difference being the Gangway on the Mk2 was the same as the BR MK1 , the Mk2a had the bi folding door, this would be changed on the Mk2 over time so by the time it came into IE ownership it was a MK2a. The other difference being Mk2 was Vacuum Braked later converted to Air Brakes.
  5. I think the rebuilt Dutch van (EGV) would be difficult, the ex MK2b Fk , Mk2c FO are more likely the only difference with the BR / NIR versions is the interiors and the blanked over windows on 4401 & 4402 .
  6. The MK2b coaches look stunning the level of detail is in another world every manufacturer who has tackled the MK2b seems to omit some detail , it seems that Accurascale /IRM have nailed it , one detail such as the door bumpers is such a distinctive detail which make the model standout unfortunately this was omitted on the Murphy Models Mk2d for example and are slightly poorer for it . I am keeping my fingers crossed that the IR/IE MK2b’s 4109 , 4401 & 4402 might appear at some point along with MK2c ex FO’s 4103 ,4104, 4105 , 4106 & 4107 possibly in a mix of three pack at some point in the future. Hint Hint ……….
  7. Beautiful craftsmanship as usual .
  8. Yes maybe a high end detailed CIE/IE BSK/BCK Steam heating van with DCC lighting .
  9. This might help too
  10. This previous thread covers it very well if one wanted the exact RAL colour the likes of Vinny Byrnes in Dublin would make it for you in a rattle can .
  11. Yes the sound chip can be used on the different locos , the difficulty would be the possibility of easily damaging the chip if your changing it from loco to loco the pins are very delicate.
  12. Here is a picture from the O'Dea collection of new 30 ton vans Holdings: New 30 ton brake van, Inchicore, Co. Dublin. (nli.ie)
  13. If you have any wagons that failed the test you can send them my way just thinking of the environment .
  14. Wonderful as always
  15. Just finished painting and and adding decals to my J M Designs open and covered wagons , only when painting them did I appreciate the superb quality of these wagons.
  16. Beautiful Work John.
  17. A lot of them were converted to ballast wagons in the late 1990’s after lying out of use in a siding in Enniscorthy for many years .
  18. Picked up one of these Oxford Rail 14ton wagons which seem very similar to Irish Shell wagons removed the ‘Mobil ‘ logos , got the Irish Shell transfers from Des at SSM models
  19. I think one could say that the thread has like 224 suffered a catastrophic crack in its main frame .
  20. Hopefully we wont have to wait that long for the next announcement from IRM.
  21. judging by look of the loco not many people read the sign
