  1. Obviously, you'll need to have some space for a cassette or some way to load new rolling stock on the left. How is coupling/uncoupling being achieved? The camera seems to wander off while the great shunting hand from the sky seems to sneak in off camera. Magnets under the track might be useful? ... and I think the milk went sour during that coal delivery
  2. Are they identical sets? I think there was talk of a potentially a second set of three if/when the first sold out, which they obviously haven't yet? I have a set somewhere.....
  3. very informative John. Do you have a link to that CIE/GSR road rail tanker please?
  4. I didn't see this until now. So it looks like that GS flat wagon is equipped with some sore of roller system to allow the trailer to be slid (sideways) over the platform before being drawn down the ramp? I'm just looking at the pulley behind the trailer and I'm not sure of that is compatible with end loading the flat? MK3 International Set?
  5. Shame about not being the Galapagos, a chance missed to try out the Kevlar gloves
  6. There may be some lurking where you got that image. They come in bulk (composites and thirds) This one's on Long island but they turn up on the eastern side of the Atlantic with correct voltage if you need all that https://www.ebay.com/itm/SU-7BHO-Bachmann-00651-Irish-Railway-Complete-Train-Set-Factory-Sealed/362685564071?epid=1309895157&hash=item5471be84a7:g:rjAAAOSwSvVdEBWb#shpCntId
  7. Fcuking A! (pardon my French (connection)). Looking over the CAD of the (later) A . Seriously beautiful thing!!
  8. HI Ironroad, Agree with a lot of what you say based on personal experience. I have found it difficult to get Irish retailers to clarify exactly that point. IRM quickly revised their website to deal with this automatically, no requests, no fuss. Dealing with importation taxes in the recipient's country is up to the purchaser.
  9. Yes, I do like that 20 footers myself
  10. Really beautiful job, Eoin! Shame it's not a mould and we could all have one. lol I'm sure it's going to a good home. Envious of the recipient!! Lovely job!
  11. Surely you'd be better off outside Marks collecting a few bob towards the loco and if you really make a nuisance of yourself they might pay you to "P*** off", loco in hand?
  12. I couldn't really think of a good reason why I had been banned and since I didn't really know about FB site, after rebooting my router, using several different browsers etc. I had to email a member in NZ to see what was going on. So the site was down for a week? (It's taken me about three hours to write this post due to the delirium and the shakes.... )
  13. I had assumed that the loads would be removable so that the ferts could be run empty but of course I had forgotten about the center bars. In regards to the loads themselves there must obviously be a single pallet and a double height. Looking at old pictures these were never stacked more than three high in the yards before loading but I doubt that the plastic loads themselves would stack easily on one another unless a single were glued on top of a double. A pretty realistic yard would be made with a number of singles and possibly more doubles with Hyster forklift stuck in the mix. Not trying to nitpick but the IRM boys have made the palletized load too good. The detail of the individual bags is excellent but when the loads were shrink wrapped this obscures a lot of this detail as you can see in Noels photos above. If I had an option I'd prefer the load model to retain printing detail on the individual bags. If available as an option (like additional Bell, B&I or CIE containers etc) it would be nice to have a different print option for Goulding or Albatross
  14. Sorry about that Ernie. I Just posted the link. Great photo
  15. They'd got nicely behind an A, BnT not yet in Supertrain in 1974 or if I recall you have a BnT141 equally good The albatros yellow bagged fertilzer seems to have been bagged in clear pallet bags initially but a white cover with Albatross logo later on
  16. From Mr Dean in case you're not aware of this Flickr album
  17. As long as those graffiti freaks don't show up
  18. Not to hi-jack your cattle van thread Leslie but John Mayne did a nice MGWR horse box in metal a few years back I have the book but had forgotten about that picture. Several others have been posted up on the site in the past often mixed with cattle boxes but obviously the latter would have predominated Great info , John. I suppose you could also convert one to PW van
  19. Ah yes working your way quickly into the mother in law's heart by showering her with 'gifts'
  20. Leaving out the 'rear' (bonnet-side) cabs windows would be a major omission (don't worry). Some of the horizontal ones were blanked out in later years on 131 & 134 (at least) so it's likely you're seeing the sample for that. 134 in IE is due in Oct 2109. Grey, BnT, Supertrain IR all had those windows present. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/5768419772/in/album-72157677789896957/
  21. Incidentally what language is the graffiti in?
  22. Unfortunately this really isn't seen as crime by many including the Gardaí and courts. I wonder why we discourage gricers from 'benign' trespassing when this reckless destruction occurs (rhetorical)? Interesting to see them continue with people in the trains looking on without apparently doing anything. When was the last time one of these idiots was run over (we can only hope, I suppose)?
  23. .... under the 'fakes' section (just for clarity)
  24. Nice one, Tony. Enjoyed that trip back in time.
  25. Not a bad likeness but missing some detail especially for O gauge
