  1. I bought a couple of the 141 bodies a few years ago. I sold them on...
  2. You haven't placed a bid so?
  3. Yes, it was specially repainted to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the introduction of the 071 class.
  4. It's possible the coach was not supposed to be in use but that someone forgot to lock the doors...
  5. Hi Kieran, Our stand was manned for the exhibition's opening time of 10am. No matter anyway, we have your order ready for collection. Edit: just heard you were here at the ungodly hour of 9am! We were still getting ourselves together after hitting the hay at 5!
  6. I would agree with that assessment, Dhu Varren.
  7. Thanks, Noel! We're extremely appreciative of the strong support and encouragement we've received.
  8. The RPSI better get 186 back into steam sharpish...
  9. Speak for yourself, Fran... I've a serious soft spot for the prototypes. Have to keep feet firmly in the ground, though (and prevent Richie from having a conniption)!
  10. Peco's new range of bullhead track also has OO sleeper spacing...
  11. Hi Railer, we don't envisage any hold-up at customs when they land. The biggest task facing us will be the quality control check we'll be conducting on each set before dispatch, but once the four of us have enough coffee it shouldn't take too long! Good afternoon, gents. All going well, postal orders will be dispatched before the Bangor show. Anyone who has chosen to collect their order at a show will be able to do so at Stillorgan or Blackrock. We plan on having wagons for sale at these shows, so let us know beforehand and we'll leave your order to one side (remember to bring ID and proof of purchase). Alternatively, we can arrange to meet in the Dublin area - just drop us a line via PM or at info[at]irishrailwaymodels.com.
  12. It's the final countdown! We'll be at the NDMRS exhibition in Bangor on April 22nd and 23rd and we're planning on having the ballast wagons for sale at it. If you have already ordered yours and want to pick them up at Bangor, please let us know in advance and bring along ID and proof of purchase on the day.
  13. I shudder to think where they put the capacitor... Get well soon, Dave!
  14. MDF is perfectly good to use once it's properly supported, which Everard Junction's baseboards weren't...
  15. In Volume 1 of Tom Ferris' 'Irish Railways in Colour', there's a photo of 6T with a Flying Snail on its buffer beam while in charge of one of the last services on the C&L. However, it looks like it might have been applied with chalk, so not sure how official it was. Can't think of any apart from that...
  16. I hope ye can grow more kidneys because ye'll need to flog more...
  17. Sounds like conditions attached to a grant. If that's the case, the RPSI would have known this when lodging the application...
  18. Replacement motors available here: http://diesel-trains.co.uk/Lima_replacement_motor_kits.html Another company called ModelTorque also produced replacement motors, but I think they may have ceased production.
  19. Wow. My dad (who holds a helicopter PPL) trained alongside Captain Fitzpatrick for a while back in the day. I remember attending events held by the now-defunct Irish Helicopter Club with him, and Ms Fitzpatrick would frequently attend them, too. Even though a long time has passed (it must be 20+ years ago now), I can still recall many of the other pilots (all male, incidentally) commenting on her exceptional skills as a pilot. May she and her fellow crew members Rest in Peace.
  20. Well said, Noel. It's a sad day for the Coast Guard and its brave, dedicated rescue crews.
  21. No, it's snowing up as normal.
  22. This thread has been about IFM from the outset. Noel's weathering thread is here: http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/6101-When-it-went-all-wrong-the-rocky-horror-show
  23. We have photos on file of CIÉ-era ballast trains with a plough van at either end. The 24850 series plough vans were only introduced in 1978.
