I can’t wait until 134 is decked in 1961 spec livery, but I can’t say I won’t miss this livery when it goes.

just to give people an idea of that the 121’s will be like once decked out in grey. I actually love the grey 121/Green coaching stock.

CSX loco no.800 in the same grey preserved over in America

a 121 at ballahagerdeen, I think this was an IRRS special hence all the photographers over at J15 in the shed

Of course the RPSI picked there colours by simply removing a few layers of paint To find the original livery buried below!

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suspect that not one person will agree with me; I would love to see an ICR in black'n'tan, or 1950s green, snails an'all...!  Or a NIR 4k in UTA green..

Here you go then :) :) 16060286275_e177233f44_b.jpg.e500a83e0f9

Wasn't it only a quarter of the loco that was painted like that?

So would a manufacturer run a limited edition that's three quarters rusted and missing doors, and a quarter trial 201 livery?

The biggest problem for 019 is that it never left Inchicore like that so it's difficult to justify it on any layout really. It would be stretching rule one to the limit for most people I suspect 😉

Agreed…. Personally, I never liked yellow mixed in with orange, white & black. Never liked the 201 livery which resulted….

For me it’s like a model of the turf burner. not something that should be mass produced, but it would be the attention puller of any layout it was on

No rust or missing doors when 019 was initially stored outside Diesel No 1 in 92/93.

019 received an overhaul and full repaint in the tippex scheme with points logo but never re-entered service approx. before being used as a guinea pig for the 201 paint scheme.

The loco was in pristine ex-work condition in 010s old spot outside Diesel No1 when I visited Inchacore Works in 92 or 93 but was still in the same spot partially re-painted in the new scheme 12 months later.

The remains of 010 was stored on Pullman Bogies outside Diesel No 1 following its recovery from the Lisburn collision until 019 took her place.
