richrua Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 been trying a little scenery in my branchline station. It will be a fictional spot just off the GNR somewhere. I'm finishing off a version inspired by knockmore signal cabin for the throat of the station. a small waiting room eventually on the platform. needs a little more scenic weeds etc but i am getting there... richrua Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 thanks. the slopey roof is not ideal for the backscene, but beggars cant be choosers. Quote
DiveController Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 no, but the perspective is good when seen from the front:cool: Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Looking great! The front-on view actually works great with the back-scene! Quote
richrua Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 making a start on the dawson hall signal box Quote
richrua Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 fixing the walls was easy. self adhesive. Quote
richrua Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 I ve never seen kit windows as detailed as these. the laser cut is amazing. Quote
DiveController Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Looking good, Rich. How do the parts detach from the card? cut each one with the Stanley/utility knife? Looking forward to the finished item... Quote

richrua Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 all the parts are laser cut and pre cut. they more or less pop out but i run a knife along just to keep it clean. i will try a photo here with light through it . Quote

DiveController Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Wow, I Just developed a renewed interest in card kits (given some time). I guess I assumed they were a 'printed box' Nice job, Rich=D Quote
richrua Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 kitbashed a load of spare bits from card kits into a railwaymans cottage. An enjoyable hour of creativity not based on any prototype whatsoever! Quote
popeye Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Love the signal box, looks great. Well done. Quote
richrua Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 thanks. I just stuck it together. It is a very good kit. Quote
Glenderg Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Loving it rich - smashing job on the signal box, and the cottage? Aside from the georgian portico over the outdoor loo, it's just cushty. Poshest loo this side of the Shannon? Quote
richrua Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 l. Yes indeed! You gotta look after the railwaymen! Quote
leslie10646 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Rich Looking at your scenery - what are you doing building a layout in MY loft? Actually, yours looks a lot less cluttered with wood than mine! But I've got sloping sky as well. Thanks for the ideas, which work! Leslie Quote
ttc0169 Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Lovely work richrua particularly on the signal cabin,I was very tempted with those excellent card kits at the exhibition-but settled for some SSM 42'wagons instead. Quote
