Kirley Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Busy busy workbench Eamonn but I suppose you wouldn't have it any other way. Quote
The Derry Road Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Love the wagons Eamonn, the vans also look the part. Very nice indeed TDR Quote
Weshty Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 You've always something on the go Eamon! Love the rusted IFM Cement wagons, they really look the business, lots and lots of detail there. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys. I am currently trying to finish off the Dapol Esso tankers with the SSM brass detail.Having finished the ladder and walkway, just to sort some small detail before painting. I have also just finished my M class Bus kit. Quote
Irishrailwayman Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Great job on those buses Eamonn! Quote
Kirley Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Like your buses Eamonn, are they Jim Poots or Shapeways kits? Quote
DiveController Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Eamonn, what paint did you use on the curtain side cement wagons? Tom, just for historical reference, the MIR Price list on Wrenneire's thread refers to Revel No51 Blue for Curtains sides, and Pallet Cement Blue (no other manufacturer of number quoted). Would be interesting if you have any in the toolbox to see how they match up. I've seen Eamonn's Cements in the flesh and they really look they business! Quote

enniscorthyman Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 I bought this nice Bullied open wagon at the Dublin show, and could not resist 077 joining the fleet either when she was going for 139euro.While at the Wexford show I picked up two nice transits to add to the fire fleet. Quote
Kirley Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 They are Jim Poots and shapeways kits. Fast turnaround on the Fire Transits Eamon, got a bus from Jim Poots yesterday, thanks for the information. Quote

enniscorthyman Posted October 28, 2015 Author Posted October 28, 2015 Just finished building the Provincial Wagons CIE Bullied open wagon. Nice little kit and very enjoyable to build. The running gear underneath is a little tricky, just take your time.A nice kit for anyone who would like to try a resin kit for the first time.I used a bit of scrap brass for the things that stop the door from fouling the running gear. Not sure if they look a bit thin,I can use slightly larger scrap brass if needed. Quote
Kirley Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 They are looking good Eamonn, I used brass strips as well, a lot easier than 2 staples. Quote
robbieb Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 They look great, are kits like that expensive? Quote
John-r Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 That looks very well put together ,well done, can't wait to see it painted,I have a few Of these to build myself, great job. John Quote

The Derry Road Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 looking good Eamonn, they look a fine model, I may pick up a few from Leslie at the Warley show next month, looking forward to some pictures of your finished model. Very Nice piece of work TDR Quote
enniscorthyman Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 I used grey primer on the body and then found out that the tins of grey paint that I had stored are useless so I put on some rust wash and a bit of weathering powder. Sorry about lighting in photos as I had to use flash on phone due to poor light in shed. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 I brought my provincial open Bullied wagon with SSM 30t van down to Gerry's Ballybeg last evening for its first run. 230 along with IFM open Bullied belong to Gerry.I think the looks very nice and both wagons run very well. Irishrailwayman Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Full marks to George at Wonderful Weathering for the weathering job on 230. With Eamonn's excellent photography, it almost looks real! Quote
NIRCLASS80 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 230 looks great. Its just about the best C Class I have seen. Great modelling. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 I think it's a nice simple short train that a C class looks well on. Quote
Noel Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Superb scenes and photos. The C class looks stunning. Love the small train - brings back fond memories of small loose coupled stock movements out west in early 70s. Was it awkward to fit the lights? Quote

Love the small train - brings back fond memories of small loose coupled stock movements out west in early 70s. Was it awkward to fit the lights? The lights are directional and involve 3 mm white LEDs wired to the soundchip: Blue wire to each positive via a 1K resistor; White wire to negative of forward LED and Yellow wire to negative of reverse LED. There is some unintended light spill into the cabin but this nicely highlights the driver figure added at both ends! Quote
Eiretrains Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Lovely photos Eamonn, it reminds me of the kind of short beet trains which ventured out to Fenit and the likes. Quote

enniscorthyman Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 After problems with previous layouts in the attic, this a new more robost 8 feet by 1.5 feet layout that can be split in the middle. The back part in next to be done. I have a few ideas in my head for track work etc. Quote
enniscorthyman Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I also have this Oxford Dennis getting some leds on the roof and front grill. Quote
RedRich Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Very nice Eamonn. The woodwork looks good. The fire engine will look cool when the lights are working and give it that extra bit of realism. I like it. Rich, Quote
DiveController Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Keep the photos coming on these projects. Great inspiration for the rest of us. Which LEDs and resistors are you using and how is it to be powered, Eamonn? Photo of 'the works' would be great Quote
