ttc0169 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 I thought Dick Fearn told us that railcars didn't fail! Very true Stephen-and how wrong he was...... SSM 42' bogie flat getting a short test run and a container fit before painting Quote

ttc0169 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 How long did the flat take you to put together Noel? Looks fab! Thanks rebelred-it arrived in the post at 11:30 yesterday and I worked on it for most of the evening' date=' It was a easy to build except for the fiddly spigot pin holders along the solebar which needed a lot of patience but otherwise I would highly recommend the kit, Thanks must go to Des for going to the trouble of providing the kit and to Glenderg for his excellent tutorial which was of great assistance. The 20' BELL refer containers on the wagon. Quote
Glenderg Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Looks super Noel, glad the tutorial was of some help (must finish it off now ). Those bell 20's look great on her :-) Quote
Kirley Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Well done on your quick build Noel, how does it run on your layout? Really impressed with the design of this model, some parts have been very ingeniously thought out. Quote

Really impressed with the design of this model, some parts have been very ingeniously thought out.[/quote'] Kieran-It ran ok when pushed around the layout and encountered no problems, I'll put a tension lock coupler on them over the next few days and do a loco hauled test to check, Yes I agree Des has certainly done his homework on this model-and it has great attention to detail. BosKonay Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Looks fantastic already! Quick off the mark! Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 11, 2014 Author Posted December 11, 2014 Thanks lads, Another view from operations earlier sees 230 propel the up Enterprise passing 220 on an ammonia which has been looped and on the opposite line 209 heads north with a Mk3 set bound for Adelaide yard for scrapping. Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Christmas shopper specials on Tara Jctn today sees 073 haul a short rake of Mk2 air braked coaches as a relief to the regular services, 29001 passing through on a limited stop service, 2607+2608 stabled on the bay platform as a Mk3 set comes to a halt on platform 2 Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 At the other end of the layout-073 has stopped at Central station with the Mk2 a/b set as the 29000 speeds through, 210 has charge of the other Mk2a/b set as 'Arrow' liveried 2601+2602 await the road out of the depot to form another special. Hunslet 102 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Great scenes again Noel, shopper specials were great for throwing up various forms of stock, especially those that came north to Belfast back in the day, usually a C class with a rake of any coach available.Like the close coupling of your own coaches, what did you use? ttc0169 Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) Evening gents, Fresh from the Tara Jctn paint spray facility and seen here on a trial run we see 0117076... 0117076 arrives at Tara Jctn station, the driver having switched on the cab light in preparation of changing ends and working back to the MPD. Transfers are from the recently released Railtec range containing numbers for 076 and 080. Edited January 8, 2015 by ttc0169 Quote
Noel Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I see they fitted sunbeds in cab's. Yes the blue fluorescent light bulb effect in 071 cabs is pretty awful. At least I found a way to reduce the brightness on LokPilot and LokSound decoders and it doesn't look bad, but a warmer LED colour would have been better. Quote
