I have mixed some paint for EDN and have painted the stripes on a coach. This is just a test to see what you think, i can adjust it later. Also the photo looks very different from the model i painted so it's by no means exact.

Are you sure? i think the 216 looks ok, i don't see any yellow in it at all. and the 226 looks ok to me.

That's pretty close. It's hard for me to judge on my screen because it's crap.

This is the problem Steve, every picture you look at it's a different shade. I think on the BS chart it's somewhere between 216 & 217.

Thanks for that Steve. As i said before judging the colours on a computer screen is impossible, so it's only when you are holding them that you can see the correct colour. Eau de nil is a hard colour to match but i will mix my own paint and see how it turns out.

That's more like it.

They are transfers. It is hard to judge the colour on a web page until you see them on the model against the green paint.

Thanks, i thought they were a bit blue. I have to mix paint for the stripes and i will paint over the snails & numbers with the same colour.

So, the story so far, i bought 2 coaches second hand Mainline LMS. I mixed up some green paint. 42 drops of Brunswick green No 3. And 2 drops of yellow. I think it looks close enough. I got some transfers from Railtec. I'm not sure if the colour of the snails & numbers is right. So i would like your opinions please.

Slaters plastikard do a sheet No 0436 £3.00 white. Just a bit smaller than A4. Easy cut. https://slatersplastikard.com/plastikard/embossed.php

I think a wee bit of yellow in the second one might work for the C Class.

The colour wheel is very useful. And the only way to get a colour you are happy with is to mix it. Unless there is a ready made paint colour that is just right.

That looks great, well done. It is important to get all the corrections sorted out before release or you will hear a lot of criticism from across the water. -
Yes, i think it will be 3 or 4. I will look at it in the daylight and see what it is like. I will mix some paint until it looks right.

I have done a quick test of Humbrol No2 & No3 on a coach. It's a bit rough but from left to right 1 No2 + yellow 2 No3 Brunswick 3 No2 + No3 4 No3 + yellow 5 No2 + No3 + yellow

OK, so they were only green when they became CIE coaches.

Very good, thanks. So do you think the Bachmann green is too dark? I might try and mix my own and see.

I want to paint 2 coaches in CIE green. So i need to know is the dark green on the Murphy Models/Bachmann correct. Or should it be lighter like the coach in The quiet man film? The 2 pictures are here for you to see the difference.

That colour looks good, try to vary the colour a bit so some are lighter and darker so they won't all look the same.
