frankderpfeifer Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hello, I collect irish model railways for quite some years but due to my "computer dyslexia" and my poor English skills I never went into this forum or it's forerunners. Now my son made up a video of my layout during christmas time. It is a very simple layout as it is stored behind a cupboard and only taken out for a few weeks every year. Well, you might like the video: From Germany: Frank 1
heirflick Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 hi frank and welcome on board! you call that a simple layout? its excelent! love the collection of stock spanning the different eras. the best scene was the mogul pulling a mixed goods/passenger stock. get going and get the scenery done on that fine layout. fair play to you for sharing the video:tumbsup: seamus

Guest hidden-agenda Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hello Frank your lay-out is first class and willkommen.
ttc0169 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Welcome aboard Frank-you have a nice layout.I like the different eras featured,well done.
Broithe Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I like the different eras featured, well done. One of the attractive features of Irish railways is that there has been so little change to the basic infrastructure over the years that many eras can co-exist on the same layout.
BabyGM Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 That is a beautiful layout with a great diversity of rolling stock and engines and a very nicely made video:tumbsup:
jhb171achill Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Wow!!!! Absolutely fantastic. The silver CIE coach in the first scene is something not often seen on layouts, and I love the clerestorey roofed old GSWR coach in green.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Great video and nice layout. Welcome to the site Frank

burnthebox Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Hi Frank & welcome onboard, the layout look's great, & I particularly love the mix with the passanger & freight, well done, and a great video as well,
Tarabuses Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I like the sound effects and the fact that you have kept the buses in the correct era too.
frankderpfeifer Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 Hello, thanks for the kind welcome and the positive comments about the video. My layout is back behind the cupboard now and waits for it's return next christmas. So all I can do is waiting for a 071 in IR or IE livery. Were there 071s in supertrain livery with IR logo - I have a photograph of a 141 in that livery with IR logo ? Frank
irishthump Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Welcome to the site, Frank. Love the video and the variety of stock on your layout...
Hunslet 102 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Nice video and a nice variety of stock through the era's,with the 70s being the pick of the bunch.
