burnthebox Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Hi guys, have a look at this lot, Bachmann MM0165 Class 141 CIE Livery Locomotive. https://railsofsheffield.com/bachmann-mm0165-class-141-cie-livery-locomotive-mm0165-ob-JJJA8322.aspx Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Excellent spot, some hard to get 141s there. I got the email about obsolete items and I didn't bother looking! Quote
Tarabuses Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Why does it say Obsolete beside Availability for all but 143? Do they have stock or not? Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Why does it say Obsolete beside Availability for all but 143? Do they have stock or not? They all can be added to the basket so I would say they're all in stock. Quote
leslie10646 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Folks In case any of you want one of these for £89.50, see - https://railsofsheffield.com/obsolete/JJP2-JJM0-JJS0-JJC0.aspx#skip_to_list Sorry if I've stuck this thread in the wrong place! It's not the 4-4-0, by the way! Hope this helps someone! Leslie Quote

Also available, if you page on through the obsolete list are - IE 156, 184, 187 IR 146, 177, 181, 183, 192 Supertrain 142, 161, 182 and 190 (weatehered) Black and Tan 141, 165, 181 Hope I've got that right! There must something here for someone! Leslie Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Odd - what's 'obsolete' about them Obsolete is often used for items not in current catalogues. Quote
jhb171achill Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Got meself two black'n'tans..........! Thanks, Leslie, for the tipoff! And I've a "Maedb" on the way from Des. Happy Christmas / Easter / birthday to me! :-) Quote

Warbonnet Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Where have they been hidding them? They must've found a load of stock in their warehouse. Either that or Bachmann has had a purge from their warehouse. Thanks to this I found a UK limited edition for a fairly reasonable price that I missed out on 1st time around. Looking forward to getting it! Quote
WRENNEIRE Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 These "obsolete" locos will be available at the Stillorgan Park fair on Sunday! Quote

Thanks to this I found a UK limited edition for a fairly reasonable price that I missed out on 1st time around. Looking forward to getting it! Glad to be of service! They have republished the list today and there are now only four double-ended yankies in the list, so you're not the only one to have been taking advantage! Mind you, there are some strange items to be deemed "obsolete" there - like the Heljan railbus, which I thought was only out last year. No matter, as long as more Irish locos end up in Irish hands! Robert Davies Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I appear to have snagged the preserved 141 Quote

Leslie I think discontinued might bee a better term, all the same its good to see lads picking up some good bargains. Quote
jhb171achill Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I got a pair of black'n'tan beauties in the post 2 days ago, only ordered previous day. Excellent stuff. Their customer service is second to none, even if they couldn't get one of my credit cards to work...!! Quote
StevieB Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I've just got my order from Rails, 161SA and 182, both in super train livery. I wasn't quick enough to get of the black and tans before they went, but I'm pleased with what I've got. Rails customer service up to their usual high standard. Quote
Warbonnet Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 My beauty bargain arrived today. Class 57 in porterbrook 'grafitti' livery. Limited edition from the Bachmann Collectors club. Brand new in box. Quote
RedRich Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 That was a good find Fran and looks excellent. It was a fair few years ago when that was offered to the collectors club. It really blew the Heljan 57 models out of the water. Rich, Quote

Warbonnet Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Cheers lads. Will do Anto, I will give you a shout once work dies down! Also, I have no idea what happened to the pictures I uploaded. They were the right way round on my ipad when I uploaded them last night and checked the thread, now on my work computer they're upside down! Quote
BosKonay Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It's an apple 'feature' if you take photos with the button as opposed to the touch screen (as the ipad is the wrong way around). If you import the images to the computer, they get 'fixed' otherwise you might need to edit them first Quote

I will put up some proper ones if people are interested. Quote

To get this thread back onto Irish model railways ..... Another e-mail arrived today highlighting more for you modern chaps (Oops, I nearly called you diesel freaks!). I didn't go through it all, but noted a 201 in orange for a bargain price, restaurant car, Cravens, Generator. Worth having a look? Leslie Quote

Plenty of 201s there including the almost rare River Shannon. So tempted to plump for the Bachmann Tinsley 20s twin pack if I had the cash and not had two Dapol Westerns, Heljan Garratt and two 071s to buy! Quote
burnthebox Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Do's this mean I posted it in the wrong POST BOX Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Beautiful :-bdyou will have to bring her with you the next time you call up Quote
Riversuir226 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) There also offering 10% of on all secondhand and obsolete items when you spend over £100. That class 57 is superb, was only reading an old Model Rail last night were they converted a class 47 to a 57 and used home made decals to produce the aboves livery, at the same time i could have swore one of my oldest locos a class 47 said don t even think about it!!!!. Man id want to get of these twilight shifts at work. Edited March 19, 2013 by Riversuir226 Quote
