RedRich
I was lucky to have travelled on a PP set with power car, two coaches, and a 121 from Limerick to the junction many years ago. PP sets and 201's were used on the Dublin Heuston - Plunkett and return to Heuston for many years after the MK11's were scrapped so I used them a lot. It's a crying shame to see them going. enniscorthyman
Shocking waste of money. I liked them a lot and loved the Sunday morning 10.30 ex Connolly-Rosslare pushed by a 121.I had no car in the early 90s and had to use the train a lot to go to my dirty weekends in Dublin. Glenderg
True enough. Each to their own I suppose, but I never had any time for them. A few more of them caught in Feb this year in Dundalk looking in poor shape.

UP6936
Maybe some sensible soul will keep two normal PP trailers to go with 6105 and a 121. They could be useful for the shuttle type things that occasionally get chartered from the RPSI

Killucan2
Back to mk3s,the dundalk sets would more than likely be broken up in the old fright yard, don't think irish snail would like people watching and there is no access for machines to get in. Warbonnet
From another (UK Based) forum It seems that a UK train operator has registered an interest in some of the Mk111's coaches that IE are disposing of. It is subject to IE swapping power units from genny vans with a poor body at Dundalk, into those at North Wall with better bodies, whose power units had been removed as spares for genny vans in use on the cross border services.
