snapper
A guy in marks models once told me that a guy from England will being buying some coaches & locos from Irish Rail & will be converting them to be used as a Pullman train to go on long rail tours all across the island of Ireland, at the cost of between €500-€1000 per ticket. If this is true, may that man hurry up and save some mk3s. Perhaps is was getting mixed up with Rail tours Ireland hiring the RPSI for an exclusive 8 day railtour of Ireland. PS tickets only € 3499 http://www.railtoursireland.com/train-tour/The-Ireland-8-Day-Rail-Land-Cruise-and-Castle-Tour/st2014/

jhb171achill
I would say that the RPSI will be very much to the forefront of any future whole-train hire. Their Cravens and Whitehead Mk 2's will probably be adequate.
tonybonneyba
When FGW sent 8 mk3s over to inchacores works, Ireland, Irish Rail / Iarnód Éireann had made a mistake & sent the 8 back..... They sent it back with the wrong paint scheme!

It is the last transfer to be moved to Belfast. I think there will only be four mk3s on it.

tonybonneyba
Oh, I just rembered, a wee boy (youtuber Luke Wilson) said to us during the mark 3 transfer that he wanted to put flowers on the mark 3, but unforntkey it wasn't possible with out trespassing, but I thought the idea was nice
dave182
I see that the push-pull set destined for Moyasta was moved today (to Ennis, rest of journey by road I believe) so just wondering can anyone give an update as to what mk3 stock is left as of today? Is North wall yard cleared of all Mk3 stock now?

It still exists along with around 7-8 standards that are being kept for someone who bought them. 7607 and 7409 I think are the correct numbers are being fitted out for per way use. One for the Sperry train and the other for the weed spray.
