Warbonnet Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Flickr is a bit of a goldmine when it comes to old pics, maybe we should post links to good pics or albums we find on our travels and post them on this thread? To start the ball rolling, a wee collection I found from around 1979. And for our bus friends Enjoy!
Glenderg Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 My jaw hurts from all the dropping on that first link. Cheers Fran.
heirflick Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 outstanding stuff - thanks for posting those links! great to see the old babies again. i never get tired of the good old black and tan ere:tumbsup:
DiveController Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Fantastic link, Warbonnet! OMG! Some beautiful machines here...
BosKonay Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I don't think I've ever seen a better looking set of the Es! And the little Deutz's!

Warbonnet Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Another great Flickr album belongs to Ernie's Rail Archive - So many gems from the 1950's to the 90's. I love his British stuff too personally.
Irishswissernie Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 My Flickr site is perhaps a bit confusing to find what you are looking for as there are now 231 albums and 24674 photos spread over 8 collections. This is the Irish collection: https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/collections/72157626625058875/ This should bring up the 24 Irish sets and then you just need to click on whichever set takes your fancy (if any do of course!) aclass007 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I just stumbled upon this one. Some nice shots of Claremorris. Not all of the photos are rail related, but keep scrolling anyway..... http://www.flickriver.com/places/Ireland/Mayo/Claremorris/search/

DiveController Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Great photos! Anyone know what the white 'dayglo' panels are on 084 about photo no 80?
Glenderg Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Lol, that's not white. washed out/faded dayglo was regular then...
DiveController Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Saw it on several of the photos. When you looked from the side it looked like it had been applied to the front panels. I thought it was faded/dirty white or an experimental color before Dayglo was chosen! Seems they might not have been that effective then! lol, my mistake;)
Garfield Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Some pure filth here Some cracking shots there, especially the colour pics of Kilfree Junction and the Guinness railway... nice to see photos of how the narrow gauge Spence steam locos were able to run on the 5ft 3in sections! It's a crying shame that the Guinness Hudswell Clarke diesel shunter wasn't preserved.
irishthump Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Great shots of 145 and 177 in Black and Tan.
Warbonnet Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Not flickr but some great 70s action here http://www.hatspics.co.uk/

jhb171achill Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Flickr is unfortunately a very unwieldy thing to navigate around.......

heirflick Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 no disrespect to those railcars, but the livery on the set on the left is awful!
Dunluce Castle Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 That's an amazing pic thanks for sharing
Warbonnet Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 For you lovers of CIE vehicles (including the fortcoming Leyland model) https://www.flickr.com/photos/57566472@N05/favorites/page8/?view=md
jhb171achill Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 UTA stock did begin to look very drab when the paintwork wasn't fresh! I remember it well......
dave182 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 What a great find Warbonnet! I think there is quite a shortage of 1:76 trucks from the 80s and 90s. I see Oxford have a DAF cab listed for early next year- would love to see a Roadliner or Guinness version. Commission anyone??
