I have very fond memories of that poster. These days, I can't remember last week, let alone last year, but I can still remember that add campaign from all those years back. :D

The year is 1977 and we see pioneer locomotive 001 do a bit of time travelling

001 is seen here working the Limerick to Platin two axle empty pallet cement and laden gypsum liner through Tara junction-the train was diverted to the long siding at Inchicore to allow for the brand new Tara mines wagons 31001 & 31002 be attached and worked forward to Tara mines to commence duty on the circuit

It was an Irish rail themed night recently on Tara junction;

133 worked Limerick-Kingscourt empty magnesite liner

080 worked a Northwall-Waterford BELL liner

036 worked a Waterford-Northwall BELL liner.

The new ECO friendly platform canopy lighting can be seen to good effect

May we assume that Mikado biscuits were not unknown in the past on the Ballina branch?

Lovely stuff, Noel. Sometimes, lighting up buildings can be a little hit and miss. Either too bright, or too dim. This, is spot on.

What ever happened to those D&M guys, or whatever they were called, who used to make the 2600 models years ago?

It may all have ceased.

I remember there being some talk of controversy alright. At least a few members have them. TTC is lucky that I'm too far away or I'd be scaling the walls and breaking in to "borrow" his...

Put it this way. I'd say there's a very high probability, the customers who did order them and got them, are in the minority.

So you're saying that the cost of flights to Ireland to break in are actually worth it?

It’s a pity that D&M ceased production, the De Dietrich coaches and Arrow railcars were made to a high standard,

Not the ones that I saw - they must have liked you or something if yours were good. Have had 2 rakes of De Dietrichs in for 'improvements' and the running qualities were shocking - they wouldnt run is an easier way to put it. But remember they are 'Ready to Run' quality made in someones kitchen...... Can think of 461 other reasons why they are best forgotten about in terms of product and service

A nocturnal scene as the last of the Friday only trains has arrived at its destination as passengers make their way out of the station

It’s going to be a “Good Friday”for passenger and freight/perway movements on Tara junction.

A rare double header on the two axle ballast hopper train sees locomotives 132+152 work a laden train through the junction-check out the operation of the semaphore signal in the opening sequence 👍

190+187 work a Northwall-Belfast Adelaide mixed Fertliser / container / and Guinness bogie liner

Locomotives 056 and 027 are in formation as they pass through with bank holiday relief Cravens sets from Sligo and Ballina,

And finally inspection car 722 is seen passing through while en route from Kildare plant shop to Athlone.
