Hi everyone,

The biggest event on the Irish model railway calendar is just over 4 weeks away as South Dublin Model Railway Club host us for the annual three day Dublin show at Blackrock College.

SDMRC3DAYSHOW.thumb.jpg.8564c6b3bfc709ebeec23528966f2032.jpg

We are delighted to sponsor this event and support our clubs, and will have an action packed stand this year full of delights and treats. These include:

1. Production samples of our new NIR Enterprise coaches (which are due in stock around this time!)
2. FIRST tooling sample of our 22000 ICRs (spoiler alert, it looks AMAZING!)
3. FIRST tooling sample of our Park Royal Coaches (also looks splendid)
4. An all new tooling announcement (perhaps even 2!)

We will also of course have stock for sale including wagons and buses, and some highlights from our sister brand Accurascale UK for all you British outline lovers.

Excited? We are! Make sure you drop by and see us there!

Feel free to wildly speculate too.

Cheers!

Fran

As we had the decorated samples for hattons Irish offerings. A certain deisal locomotive that hauled them along with the NIR mk2s comes to mind…one where a lot of the work has been done already with the A class 😉

alas a much more conservetive guess would be something like…timber wagons or amonia wagons

Obviously my WCIR carriage triple pack prediction from last year remains a strong contender, but I'll also add a Ruston 88DS in O scale (one eye on Accurascale here, despite the recent launch of a OO one by a rival manufacturer).

.... ammonia wagons would be nice too though, and probably have much shorter odds 😀

It has to be something I have on my projects bench. Lads have done it on last 3 or 4 announcements, so wouldn't be surprised if they do it again.

Eagerly waiting to see what it is either way.

Put a bit of tape over the lenses of any cameras you have - remote activation is often easy...

That certain other manufacturer announced them years ago and has not released them since

Expected release winter of 2023 or early 2024….half tempted to pre order one but makes no sense considering I want to repaint it

I couldn't possibly say, where would be the surprise, and it might sway the IRM guys......🤣

Let's just say, there is some steam, some diesel, some wagons, and maybe an innovative idea or two!

You will just have to keeps eyes on the workbench thread.

Can't make it this year, as I have my own newly tooled arrival due early in October.👶. First show since IRM was a thing(that one was fun!) that I will miss but can't be helped! I'm sure there will be regular updates on here to keep me in the loop!

I'm happy to confirm that during the show I will  display my PKP layout. FREMO, h0 scale. Almost 75 feets in length.

Looking forward to that - I think modular layouts very interesting. I enjoy the T-Track displays in N scale (hope to see them back again this year too), so seeing another take on modular in a bigger scale will be great. FREMO seems highly configurable too.

I know that my layout it a few year project but I hope to present it every year from time now to show the progress. I hope we will be able to create a FREMO community similar to the one from Poland, Czech or Germany :) (yep, I know, it will take a decade or two :))

N scale T trak will be at the show this year. We are in the same room as MERG. I believe that the Erne Model Railway Club will also have an N scale modular layout.

All being well, I'll be there, with one or two new wagons, already announced. Please light candles, etc on 12th and 14th when they are on the factory worksheet!

I'm just off the phone to Michael Rayner, aka "My Man". The very bad news is that he is retiring. As an Octagenarian, I can't blame him! (A couple of weeks in hospital haven't helped either).

Theoretically, I will still be able to get my kits made through the new Smallbrook owner, but maybe it's time to retire myself?

I have been building up stock, ready for Blackrock, but some kits will be in limited supply so if you have specific needs, now's the time to have me reserve them.

As usual, either PM me, or send an e-mail to me.

Like Patrick, if the Steam announcement isn't made in October, I'll get very upset, maybe not to the extent of needing the Samaritans! At my age, pre-ordering stuff is a risk!

PS Good luck with your "New Arrival", Mr Mogul.
