irishthump Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Lads, Just got my 201 Decoder from Model Shop Belfast, here's a little video of her in action... 210 gets delivered to the engine shed by 086 before first startup. She takes on diesel at the new refuelling point then she's tested hauling a rake of Mk3's. Enjoy!
Kirley Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Great video, shows off your layout progress very well. The 201 sounds really good.
Dave Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Excellent video Your layout looks great, I love the weathered track oround the station area
Glenderg Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Very well done thump. Every part of it looks great, and tidy video editing too! I thought when the 201 had refuelled there might be a splash of dirt starting around the tanks afterward....gotta say the sound is more appealling with that setup.
jhb171achill Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Mr Thump, that is SO realistic! Well done. Love the weathering on 086 as well.
heirflick Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 yes....excelent stuff! her delivery by 086 is the dogs:tumbsup:

John-r Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Hi irishthump, Video was just great, really starting to like dcc sound. Impressed with your mk3 super train rake, can I ask Did you do those yourself or are they shop painted. Love the layout and thanks in advance John-r
irishthump Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Guys, thanks for all the positive comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Hi irishthump, Video was just great, really starting to like dcc sound. Impressed with your mk3 super train rake, can I ask Did you do those yourself or are they shop painted. Love the layout and thanks in advance John-r John-r, the MK3's are my own repaints. I used a rake of older Hornby Mk3's which I believe are a little short to be prototypical but I think they turned out well. If you look on my workbench thread you can see how I went about it - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/77-Graham-s-Workbench/page2 As for the DCC sound I'm sold on it myself! I know it's not everybody's cup of tea but I really enjoy the "driving experience" with sound equipped locos.
John-r Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks irishthump , Thought that was class using nail heads for the buffers, I think your mk3s look great. Cheers. John
ttc0169 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Excellent stuff Irish thump-Your driving skills and use of the various functions are top class, lovely looking layout, well done..... Having watched your video again, you can also use the F9 button on the curves to give the flange squeal to good effect. Edited January 9, 2014 by ttc0169
Warbonnet Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 sorry worbonnot if i upset you?? caps?? Not just me, the three complaints the mod team received about your use of excessive capital letters. Let's not play silly beggars. We're all adults at the end of the day
Shinkansen Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Excellent use being made of the sound chip Irishthump. Im liking the realism it brings very much. Layouts looking very well too. Top stuff
Sulzer201 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Well done Irishthump. Great sounds here and you'll convert all of us over to these BMS sound chips.
