Barl Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 That's just brilliant Anthony and the backscene and layout are beautifully blended. You've probably answered this before but what make are the backscenes?
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Thanks Guys for your comments. Barl the back backscenes are made by ID you can find them on ebay. I find that using N gauge gives you a better sense of depth. Will post some more videos and pictures soon.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 So this is very much a thing of the past!.Great video Ant. That was a great day out Eamonn. We will have to get something organised again for the summer.
rebelred Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Love your work Anthony & I enjoy the videos you post. I would love to see the actual design of your layout, is seems massive or have you just cleverly maximised the space you have? Keep up the good work
Kirley Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Must be due another video soon or has all gone quiet at Ballykay?
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Be patient K I picked up a new loco last Sunday from Chris Dyer in Stillorgan. I will do a little video for you over the bank holiday weekend. I think all the old timers (like yourself ) will love the west of Ireland feel of the new edition in the video it will put you in mind of the book Rails Through The West. Stay tuned.

From a west of Ireland point of view-(not the old timers either)--I'm looking forward to the next instalment from Ballykay....

David Holman Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Really, really impressive. The low angle viewpoint works superbly. Is there a return working?!
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Here you go lads. Somewhere in the west of Ireland. Enjoy the latest addition to the fleet I got from Chris Dyer last week RTR Silver Fox Sulzer B107 Edited May 25, 2014 by Flying Scotsman 4472
JasonB Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Looks great as always anthony, was there sunday myself.
BosKonay Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Wow Anthony. That embankment is fantastic. Might be looking at a video of the real thing!
Dave Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Great video Anthony, love that Sulzer. The scenery is stunning.
UP6936 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 What's your thoughts on the silverfox sulzer? Some have mentioned the cab profile etc. Must say, the Black and Tan suits it well
ttc0169 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Excellent work again Anthony-The embankment scene reminds me of the Tuam-Athenry section of the WRC.... I like your steam heating van attached to your Cravens set-Where did you get it?
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 What's your thoughts on the silverfox sulzer? Some have mentioned the cab profile etc. Must say, the Black and Tan suits it well I don't think any manufacturer has quite nailed the Sulzer. But with a little work you can have a good representation of the real loco.

scahalane Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Those brass sides are excellent and very well put together, well done.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Some photos of the Silverfox RTR Sulzer
BosKonay Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Just stunning! What's 'under the hood' on her Anthony?

Warbonnet Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Great job on the weathering, it really lifts it. The front still really bothers me though! Just doesn't look right.
aclass007 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The Sulzer looks good! No doubt the weathering helps. Can you talk us through any other modifications you applied? The buffers is one thing I noticed..... Maybe some shots of the Silverfox and SSM Sulzers side by side...
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 Just stunning! What's 'under the hood' on her Anthony? Stephen I dumped the standard Silverfox chassis in favor of some American muscel. I hand built a chassis from plastic card and fitted it with Proto 2000 motor running gear and bogies.

The buffers is one thing I noticed..... Maybe some shots of the Silverfox and SSM Sulzers side by side... All I did was make some buffers from plastic card and a little work on the catcher recesses that's it. The only other thing I did was make a chassis and weather it. Everything else is standard RTR. Sorry but I don't have a SSM Sulzer to compare it to. As I said earlier a little bit of work and you can have a good representation of the real loco.
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 That's a little stunner Thanks Dave
patrick Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I love it. Any chance of a photo of the plasticard chassis. Did you manage to keep the flywheels?
