Garfield
The order has been placed-see you at the exhibition for a chat gents Cheers, Noel! The stand should be a handy meet-up point for the forum members.
BosKonay
Thanks for all the orders and deposits to date, we're delighted the initial run is already well into healthy double digit % subscription at this early stage!
Richard EH
Hi guys, The hopper looks very similar to the GRNi one as well as shown in the oakwood press book - not sure if they share the same design, but there may be an additional opportunity for a model if they are the same! (and one which would appeal to steam era modellers as well.....) Kind Regards Richard.
Richard EH
Had a closer look and the hopper does seem very similar, the axles/supports look more modern, not a surprise I guess... oh, and order placed as well, good luck with the project! Richard.
Garfield
Hi Richard, Unfortunately they are quite different designs... Thanks for the order.

Richard EH
oh well! Another cunning plan, dashed!! Clearly you've looked into it in some detail=D Kind Regards Richard. DiveController
at the moment, we're not VAT registered, so the price is 'as is' without VAT at this time. That'll be a disappointment for those based outside the EU to have to pay taxes there. However, I understand why you are not with this initial level of activity. If you're in talks with any model shops to stock products, a VAT registered model shop might provide a way to circumvent this, as it would be a recurring issue with future releases. BosKonay
Hi DC There is no vat on the initial price so no one is paying any tax at the moment on the sale price.
DiveController
Hi DC There is no vat on the initial price so no one is paying any tax at the moment on the sale price. Oh wow! Misunderstood you on that, Stephen. Apologies! (Hope it can stay that way, not for profit or whatever)
DiveController
Yip, exact same. Snapper posted some great photos, http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/536-Gypsum-Wagons-(PWD) another market for the decal wizards! Like Eamonn, I would be interested in a rake of 15 as gypsums. Without sounding like an ingrate, is there any option to finish some of these wagons as RTR gypsums with correct running numbers, "gypsum only" signage? BosKonay
At the moment, the only concrete plan is an initial run as Ballast. We're exploring options to make the model and chassis as flexible as possible for future runs, but you can certainly buy them 'as they come' and apply decals / make changes in the mean time
Warbonnet
Good morning everyone! Thank you to everyone who has placed and order with us so far. As a treat here's a glimpse at the latest CAD. Still some corrections required but it's almost there! We would also like to remind you that we'll be at stand 22 at the exhibition in Blackrock this Saturday and Sunday to talk about the project and take orders. Finally, we are also running a competition! We're giving away a pack of three ballast wagons to anyone who has placed an order between our launch last week and this Sunday before 11pm. All you have to do is place an order with us before 11pm on Sunday if you haven't already. The winner will then be announced on Monday. Good Luck! www,irishrailwaymodels.com
John-r
Hi guys, Probably a silly question and covered elsewhere ,but I have to ask, Will the wagons come already numbered,so if you buy 2/3 packs you have Same numbers or a transfer pack for different numbers, looks a winner.
Glenderg
Yes, John, they will come already numbered, out of a shortlist of 12 running numbers. We're trying to organise the manufacture in such a way that different numbers will be available. DJM have indicated that factory produced and user applied decals is not a recommended solution from his past experience. Richie.
Weshty
No minor exaggeration to say that for Irish RTR Freight this is akin to the launch of the 141 and the Craven. Bespoke RTR with an Irish focus. Roll on....

It seems like it may not be advisable to try to convert them to a rake of gypsums then?
Garfield
It seems like it may not be advisable to try to convert them to a rake of gypsums then? What Richie meant was that we won't be going for the option of mixing self-applied decals with factory-applied prefixes. There's nothing to stop modellers renumbering them... Glenderg
They are identical wagons. I've even been asked by a customer to convert a rake to gypsum wagons. It involves no more than removing a few decals, replacing it with those from your favourite irish decal supplier, and painting the release wheels in the same bauxite that the wagons will come in. I'll even do tutorial on how do every variant possible with the chassis, magnasite included.

While the magnesite might be doable from these wagons, it would involve a lot of work....
fishplate7
Congratulations to everyone involved with this venture. Looks fantastic! richrua
mine are gonna be gypsums. however, i am interested in the above conversion for unicorn traffic. jhb171achill
Some were indeed, Richrua!
