I see you got yourself a Lokprogrammer. Great investment if you plan on having a lot of sound equipped locos.

Yup, @murphaph convinced me to move towards DCC, and to invest in one of these.

Lots of learning ahead, and it'll probably be summer before I have time to actually look at doing anything at all, but I'm sure it'll be better in the long run.

EDIT: Actually, it'll probably be autumn, as my summer week off will be the first this year, and the family are probably flying down for that!

The Lokprogrammer is actually a lot simpler than you might think especially if you just want to load sounds to decoders.

The Lokprogrammer has a basic throttle that can run a loco to test it. Mine is connected to a rolling road but you could hook it up to a small test oval. It has enough power to run a couple of locos.

Nice to see them get a run out 👍👍👍

It has been a crazy few months, but I hope to get them run again over the next week or two.

A proper session with a bit more variety and a few more 121's unboxed.

Warming up two freshly unboxed 121's.

One needs a new vacuum hose and a little surgery on the hand-rail!

...and where is the unboxing video??? 😃😃

That won't be filled anytime soon.

Never know! They might parachute the pallets of locos out down here just to troll everybody up in Ireland a bit longer.

I like your optimism. You should print off some of the pics of the IRM As that are on this thread an place them in the cabinet and replace them with the actual models when they arrive before Christmas 20........

Considering the production boxed As have been plucked off the assembly line for their photo shoots this week, they are very close :)

Now we just have to hope that An Post sort their website out, or we genuinely will have to parachute pallets down over Las Canarias.

Well, the grey 071 re-sprays finally arrived today! The pandemic has slowed Chris Dyer down, and his painter, Tony, seems to be flat out. Well worth the wait, really impressed with these three!

Not a running session, just mocking up a short end to end layout to fit in the little space underneath the TV.

2m long plus 75cm odd inside the IKEA unit to the left. Three lines plus a couple of sidings. One line DC with a shuttle controller, one line DC and one line DCC.

Should give me space to leave some trucks and containers and stuff lying around.

Vague possibility that it'll one day be extended, but that's for another year.
