A rolling stock enthusiast's dream. That's a heavy enough load to start with, but look at the van behind the locomotive - almost certainly DSER. Perhaps KMCE might know more? At least fourteen vehicles, which appear to be, and in this order: 1. DSER vent van 2. Rebuilt MGWR 6W passenger van 3. Convertible van - probably MGWR 4. GSWR 6W passenger brake 5. & 6. Two carriages - I think one is a Bredin, but both either that or 1951-3 series CIE 7. & 8. Looks like two wagons 9. & 10. Two carriages - one, at least, looks GSWR in outline. The rest is too blurry, or maybe my glasses are. 1 Quote
airfixfan Posted November 24, 2022 Posted November 24, 2022 That is the reason one anyway why the UTA bought 3 SClass from CIE in 1963. 2 1 Quote

Galteemore Posted November 25, 2022 Posted November 25, 2022 (edited) Shows what kind of house I grew up in….this is the ‘Erne’ I pictured first of all when I read that. By the by, it may well be the most popular Irish loco name of all. At least 4 engines - 3 of them running concurrently - had it as a full or partial title…. Irishswissernie Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Some 60 odd Irish medium format negs arrived yesterday to identify etc. Over 1200 Scottish slides from the 1980's-90' also landed as well and they also need identifying etc. So that,s Christmas and New Year sorted time-wise. I see that the 071 is with the NIR 'Enterprise' set. Out of interest may ask if it about leave or at this time was a CIE 071 used to release the NIR locomotive which is presumably at the station buffers? Quote

Galteemore Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 (edited) Very elegant little engines - like a pocket S class. Although the 1948 batch had more mod cons, I think the 1917 Us win more points for style. Edited December 11, 2022 by Galteemore 2 Quote

Galteemore Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 (edited) Those moguls must have seemed like something from outer space landing in the NCC steam fleet of 1937. Always thought the smaller lettering on the tender looked better - something almost toylike about that size and font on The Bush here. The Beyer heritage of the top 4-4-0 is clearly apparent.
