Just been listening to Today FM

Guy rang in, travelling from Waterford to Wicklow to visit the mother-in-law

"Can you play Highway to Hell" says he

Had to trow me porridge in the bin, spilt half a mug of tea on top of it:((

Listening to some of this today
Sad news about Dave Greenfield, the kind of natural musician that there are just not enough of any more
Wrote one of my favourite Stranglers hits, Golden Brown, and as luck would have it another number on the album is Everybody loves you when you are dead
RIP man, wherever you go when you die will be rockin tonight

Great band, no more heroes anymore.

Rich,

Florian Schneider today. How many bands and artists did Kraftwerk inspire.

Rich,

I loved Kraftwerk from the first second of hearing Autobahn, it wasn't very 'fashionable' at the time, but the true importance has become ever more obvious every year since.

I also like La Dusseldorf, if you're partial to this sort of thing. It's a sort of sense of nostalgia for a lost future that we never had, back in the past...

Watched an interview with Martin L Gore a few years ago and he said he couldn't state how much Kraftwerk influenced him. Andy McCluskey the same. Joy Division were also hugely influenced by them.

Was listening to Rory Gallagher earlier. Stage Struck. Possibly the best in your face opening to a live album. Shin Kicker, Wayward Child, Bought and sold

My mates Pat & Steve have launched a new youtube channel which will be featuring some of The Fountainhead's not previously released experimental recordings from the early 80's ;-

I never got to see the Dead when Jerry was still with us and Maureen and I were were really disappointed when the Dead and Company show in Cleveland was cancelled due to the Corona virus. A consolation was these two box sets.

At the moment seeing where Youtube takes me on auto-generated playlists. Alestorm, Rammstein, Delain, Unleash the Archers, Arch Enemy, Sabaton, Nightwish, Eluviete, Faun, Visions of Atlantis, Amaranthe, The HU - list goes on!

I picked up some waterproof speaker units a couple of years ago, and someone gave me a few feet of gas main pipe that they fitted perfectly.

So, with a little bit of work, I have speakers on the front of the shed - finally wired up today and had a little test run today...

...but I'll fire them up with a bit of this sort of thing when it gets dark - that'll spook the neighbours.
