Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Thanks For all the comments guys:tumbsup: Here's a little video of some 111/071's running on the new section of Ballykay over the weekend. Quote
Aussie Phil Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Brilliant models and a wonderful layout. So realistic mate. Love the truck have one in 1:50 for my layout Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 I wasn't happy with my old helix, so I rebuilt it and as an oval adding an extra 3 foot. The gradient is 2%. Here is the first test run and the locos now have a lot more pulling power compared to the old helix and there ain't any wheel slippage. Quote
Kirley Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The Helix must take up a 6 x 3 area now but is obviously worth it for the longer runs you are giving the 'Trains'. Picking up on your new supporting steel work as well, you have been busy. Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Thanks guys any excuse to get the welder out Quote
dave182 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Happy Days! Very impressive, you can really see the 2% gradient coming out of the tunnel arch. Just out of curiosity, how big is the layout roughly? As Kirley points out, 6' by 3' for a helix alone! Wish I had the space! Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Dave the layout is 16'x12' over two levels Quote
Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) Another little video clip for you guys BTW all my videos are shot in HD. Just click the cog wheel at the bottom and select 720HD Edited May 8, 2014 by Flying Scotsman 4472 Quote

Flying Scotsman 4472 Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) Just brilliant Anthony!! The speed you get things done is breath taking never mind the uber realism! Thanks Stephen a bit more work to do on the top level of the helix as its going to be integrated into the upper level of the layout. Edited May 8, 2014 by Flying Scotsman 4472 Quote
