I wasn't happy with my old helix, so I rebuilt it and as an oval adding an extra 3 foot.

The gradient is 2%. Here is the first test run and the locos now have a lot more pulling power

compared to the old helix and there ain't any wheel slippage.

The Helix must take up a 6 x 3 area now but is obviously worth it for the longer runs you are giving the 'Trains'. Picking up on your new supporting steel work as well, you have been busy.

Happy Days! Very impressive, you can really see the 2% gradient coming out of the tunnel arch. Just out of curiosity, how big is the layout roughly? As Kirley points out, 6' by 3' for a helix alone! Wish I had the space!

Just brilliant Anthony!! The speed you get things done is breath taking never mind the uber realism!

Thanks Stephen a bit more work to do on the top level of the helix as its going to be integrated into the upper level of the layout.
