Love this layout, its atmosphere, the scenes and its operations. Was just rematching this video too. It shows very the meaning of the word "slow" on a good chassis. Noel Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Hi Noel Did your 161 decoder and sound project come from DC Kits (see link below signature)? I assume it is an ESU LokSound v4.0 programmed with the 071 sound project, but the engine noise from either EMD 567 16cyl NT, EMD 16cyl 645E NT, or EMD 12cyl 645E NT on ESU's download site. http://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/sounds/generation-4/loksound-v40-usa/?no_cache=1&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5BfilterLoco%5D=2&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5BfilterCountry%5D=all&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5Bsorting%5D=dateD http://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/sounds/generation-4/loksound-v40-oem/?no_cache=1&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5BfilterLoco%5D=0&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5BfilterCountry%5D=IE&tx_esudecoderprojects_pi1%5Bsorting%5D=dateD IrishThump has programmed ESU decoders doing something similar. IT any words of wisdom? Cheers Noel http://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/shop/dcc_digital_loco_sounds/irish_diesel_loco_sounds/class_141_gm_bo_bo_dc_kits_.php Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 Hi Noel Did your 161 decoder and sound project come from DC Kits (see link below signature)? That is correct Noel, I'm currently installing the 201 sound chip into loco 230-as I was impressed with the demonstration given to me at the Warley exhibition. Quote
ttc0169 Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Late night action at the junction sees loco 190 haul two BR and a Dutch steam heating van and a Mk2 EGV on the bi-directional line past 175 on the branch set and 220 on the 10 piece Mk2 a/b set-it is destined for the loco shed in the distance where some maintenance will be carried out on them. aclass007 Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 She'd turn a few heads if she landed in Ballina with the liner in that livery! Nice job on the re-spray! Quote

Thanks Michael, There is a good possibility that 216 will be tested on the liner to Ballina before being released to Belmont for its train. Quote

Kirley Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 That green really jumps out Noel, Tara Junction is certainly up to date on current happenings on Irish Railways. Quote
ttc0169 Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) Some engineering works took place over the weekend at the junction, I decided to cut back on the width of the up platform 1 and install another running line alongside thereby increasing the operating flexibility of the station area, An up passenger/freight train can now serve the up platform also being looped to enable other up trains to overtake, A train can also terminate here and run around via the loop or up main line. 085 hauls the HOBS train along the up fast line,it will propel the train back onto the new line to discharge ballast before returning to reload. After the departure of the HOBS train and under the watchful eyes of the permanent way inspectors tamper 751 packs and lines the newly relaid line. Edited January 24, 2016 by ttc0169 Quote
